  • Ten Reasons to Look Forward to WoD

I'm not really sure what sparked me to create a list for this week's column. It probably had to do with all the David Letterman I watched last week, which is something I also never really do, but they had the Foo Fighters on all week as their house musical guests and had some tremendous performances. I've also been on a bit of a World of Warcraft kick since I logged back in last week to check out patch 6.0.2.

  • First Round of Balance Changes Patched

The first round of balance changes have been patched into World of Warcraft. Hunters saw the most significant change as many felt the class had been nerfed into the ground. The overall damage for many Hunter skills has been increased ~15%. Several other classes saw significant increases in damage, while others, most notably Fury Warriors and Arcane Mages, took a hit in the damage department due in large part to one-shot kill abilities in PvP.

  • The Iron Horde is Coming

The last time Blizzard introduced a content update to World of Warcraft was September 10th, 2013. That was the Siege of Orgrimmar patch. It has been a long time since Blizzard has updated their game, especially when you consider they charge a subscription. Finally relief is in sight, however. With the release of the fifth expansion, Warlords of Draenor (WoD), imminent Blizzard has released patch 6.0.2 The Iron Tide, or what I like to refer to as the Squish patch.

  • Wow Players Never Die. They Resurrect.

It is no secret that any article about Blizzard's World of Warcraft will garner a lot of attention and, often, a long list of forum pages of debate. It is obvious then, that World of Warcraft has become a polarizing game over its decade of existence. Millions of players have streamed through its virtual doors during those ten years. Some have stayed for the duration. Others have left and returned with each expansion. Still others have waved goodbye to WoW and never returned.

A few years ago, rumors and some pixelated images of an amusement park based on Blizzard's World of Warcraft surfaced during its construction. Fast forward to 2014. Thanks in large part to a couple from England, we can now see that the WoW themed amusement park has indeed opened, illegally for the record (copyright infringement and all that), and can be viewed in a series of images the couple posted to
