  • A Look at Itemization in WoW 6.2

  • The Ban Hammer Swings to What Effect?

    It has been quite a while since Blizzard issued a large number of World of Warcraft bans but last week saw that lull end with over 100,000 player accounts being blocked for bot usage. The most common program for which players were censured was the Honorbuddy bot program that essentially automates play during PvP matches and with plug ins that can also make certain PvE tasks automatic as well.

  • 100,000 User Accounts Banned for Bot Use

    Blizzard is taking an aggressive stance against players using "honor bot" programs and has recently banned over 100,000 user accounts for six months for violating the Terms of Use. Community manager Bashiok took to the forums to explain Blizzard's reasons for the ban stating that a fair and equitable play experience is paramount.

  • Subscriptions Tumble from 10M to 7.1M

    Gamasutra is reporting that World of Warcraft lost nearly three million subscribers by the end of March 2015. After the launch of Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard reported over ten million subscribers which makes the 7.1M a precipitous decline in only a few months.

  • WoW Token Coming to EU Region April 21st

    Blizzard has announced that the WoW Token will be headed to the EU Region on April 21st after normal maintenance (approximately 5:00 pm CET). WoW Tokens will cost 20 Euro and buyers will be able to place the tokens for sale on the special regional auction house. The initial price to purchase a token that can be traded for 30-days subscription time will be 35,000 gold.

  • Revisit Old Dungeons in 6.2 with New Timewalking Feature

    The Blizzard team has gone on record with a new World of Warcraft feature that is not yet on the PTR but will be soon and that will be included in the v6.2.0 update. Called "Timewalking", it will feature special three day weekend events that will allow players to revisit dungeons long since outgrown, but in a new iteration that will see players' gear scaled down to bring the challenge back.

  • New WoW Token Info - Rolling Out in Americas Soon for $20

    The World of Warcraft community site has been updated with new information about the recently announced "WoW Tokens". Tokens can be bought with real world currency and resold in-game via the Auction House for gold. Purchasers of the tokens in game can then turn around and use them for subscription time and sellers can obtain gold through Blizzard-approved means.
