I think the reason why absolutley no one believes you (including myself) is because is virtually every damn mmorpg forum their is always one guy who says "I know the secret of >insert secret here< because my friend works for SONY."

Or "Im getting into Beta because my brother-in-law works for Blizzard"

We see it everyday.  Hell, if every single person was telling the truth then 30% of everyone on this forum either works for Blizzard, SOE, Funcom, EA, or some other "cool" company.

You can keep on posting that you know someone who works for blizzard so you're going to get in Beta till your fingers are blue and no one will believe you.

Plus it isn't a very good first impression on your part to post  your first few posts making up fairy tell stories.

It will be announced when they get ready to announce it. Not until then.

Actually the topic was who is in the beta yet (answer is no one)

While I respect you and your sayings, I have to say I dont believe you have relatives and friends working for Blizzard.  Main reason (other than a lotta people say the same hting) is that those people usually dont brag about it on the forums and then say "I cant tell you the name cause I dont want him to get in trouble".  Its the same ol same ol

You also got to figure about 15-25% of the people that applied don't even have computers that can successfully run WoW. Blizzard put up the minimum system requirments. Most of the time alot of people apply with computers with specs that can barely meet them, and like in most beta's, they usually pick just a few people with specs about that low, and most others with specs that beat that by far.

So that makes the odds abit better for those with good computers. They did say they are mainly basing it on luck and computers that can run WoW. After they do server stability tests and server test type stuff to make sure there side is running good before getting deep into beta, they will probably start accepting a wide variety of computers from decent-great. If this is like most other company beta tests, then people with good computers will have more chances of getting in then people with average computers.

(This reply was refering to those talking about the odds of getting in.)

Just cause your computer dont meet the set beta requirements dont mean that your computer will not run WoW. Most of the time beta requirements are set a bit high anyways, besides I dont see why they would pick more people with top of the line computers than they would those with low end computers. After all, if it can run on a 800 Mhz is sure as hell better run on 2.2 gig computer. Otherwise you have some problems.

I am sure they will prolly try and even it out amoung the different componets and not just rely on one thing.

Yes, in the beta signup WoW officially said that the system requirements for the beta are a little higher than those of the real game.  They probably want more high end machines to test the game so that they won't have any testers that can't play because of their PC.

I'd have to disagree.  As someone pointed out, if they know it could run on a 800 mhz then they for SURE know it can run on a 3000 mhz.  So wouldn't they get more low end computers to see what the actual cutoff is.  Besides, one of thier main goals is to make the requirements LOW... i expect to see more low-end machines make it to beta, or even amounts of both.  And im not just saying this because i have a low-end machine .. i dont.
