So I don't have resilence gear uet because I do not have a level 80 I believe it is you need to be abl;e to purchase that gear. So how are new players able to compete with experienced pvp players gear wise at low levels when existing players have better ways to obtain better stats than new players. Should one focus on getting a max charcter first so yoiu can get resiience gear  at level 10 ? I'm quite curious to know what is the best way to approach this because no matter if I craft gear experienced players always best you in pvp when you are starting from scratch. Thoughts ?

Grim Dawn, the next great action rpg!

One...its WOW, PvP balance (especially outside of endgame) is an after thought.

The answer to your question is.....grind it out in non rated BGs.  You have to grind out the honor required to purchase 2 season old PvP gear once you reach level cap.  ONCE you've collected as much resillance gear you can aquire from straight honor....THEN you'll have enough resilliance to participate in Arenas or Rated BGs that give Conquest Points.  Then you can start purchasing the Best In Slot PvP gear.

I would HIGHLY suggest NOT trying to level with XP from BGs.  The amount of XP you can get from completing all the objectives and Winning a BG is actually pretty nice.  BUT, most people in most random BGs don't work objectives and lose half the time.

You can more effectively level via quests & dungeons....and then once you get to level cap, take your beatings in BGs until you get enough honor to purchase the poor mans PvP gear.

You can also buy pvp gear with justice/valor points. Go to the point vendor and turn justice into honor.

When you level up, save all the justice points. There are also item 377 craft pvp gear.

Many ways to get a set of starting pvp gear. Grinding BG is just ONE way.

Good answers above.

Skill does matter in WoW pvp, but only when gear is roughly equal.

People talk about class imbalances, and it's true that they exist, but very skilled players know how to play their classes and can  win against whichever class(es) are currently OP.
