I don't get this as I'm not that computer savvy, but why does a game developed 9+ years ago need a 64 bit client? Do people with 64 bit cpu/OS's have trouble running the game? |

Being a video game forum, anyone here who has more than 8 is likely clueless... Not only do games not utilize all that much RAM but it's more important for gaming to have faster higher quality ram (timings). I'm pretty sure they don't make 8 gig sticks that can reach the best timing speeds. For me, I recently built a new rig and opted for some quality 4 gig sticks (*16 gig total) as I also use this machine for hosting VM's and it's nice to have the free memory to spare. |

It will have a minimal impact on WOW's performance, but what it will do is force these other lazy assclowns to crank out 64bit executeables as well.
There's no excuse for major releases to be 32bit only these days when we've had 64bit consumer chips on the market for nearly a decade. |

Originally posted by Razeron Razeron is right, some one has to go first and in this respect it's blizzard.... just watch the others fall in line, though it should be noted that only 54% of those survyed on steam run a 64bit OS at the moment..http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey |

Originally posted by Painlezz Windows 2000 has been deprecated, it is not supported anymore by WoW. Also those limits are for Windows 7 64 bit. Problem is a 32 bit application will run in a 64 bit processor and OS, but will not perform as well and cannot access all the available resources.
