Since the cross server looking for a group system even though WoW has an extensive world it may just as well be an instanced game because these day very few people quest when leveling nor do you see much world pvp . Where as in ToR theres plenty of people doing both . WoWs just an instanced raid grind for the majority of players now anyway . Graphically dunno what the OP is on about ToR on full settings is far superior to WoW graphically . But I guess thats a matter of taste . Anyway OP enjoy your return to WoW bet you don't stay more than a month or two though once you see how easy its become . \ You'll soon be bored and return to ToR along with the rest of the planet . |

Originally posted by OkhamsRazor Here is a small thing though. Not everyone likes TOR, hell a lot who bought it do not like it. Yes there are many who like TOR as well but to assume everyone will flow back is silly. How many went back to WAR, Aion, AoC and many other games that came out? Yeah not so many. Is WOW an easy mode joke yes but then so is TOR. There is nothing remotely difficult about it other than staying awake through the 500th cut scene and the millionth droid you shot with your blaster or slashed with your lightsaber. There are very few MMOs which provide an ounce of challenge in this day and age. |

Originally posted by parrotpholk I don't think ToRs quite as easy as WoW . You can't go up one level per raid or battleground win . You have to return to the quest givers they dont just pop out of nowhere like they do in stv nowdays . I would prefer mmos in general to have a bit more challenge to them . I think WoW had it right in its first two years and no game since then has got it right in terms of difficulty and design . ToR is the best in a long time and had WoW maintained it quality then ToR couldn't have held a candle to it . As it is ToR is now the better game and will remain so untill they decide to base an expansion around something cute and fury .

I am shocked that someone was let down by SWTOR and went back to WOW. Really, I am. "The keys are in your hands. Realize you are sole creator... of your own madter plan" - Dimmu Borgir, Gateways |

Unfortunately, you will not be the only player that was beaten by the new shiney, and eventually even they too will see SWTOR for what it is and realize that SWTOR needs a ton of work to even get to the level that WoW or even Rift is right now. In time though, SWTOR might be as good as WoW. For now though, enjoy World of Warcraft...it truly is a great themepark game and delivers the goods. ![]() |

Originally posted by Teala LOL. SWTOR just came out and it already has systems and mechanics that surpass anything out. The mod system, for example, is way better than WOW's transmog, by far. I used go back to WoW and level a new character to 85 and then quit again. I am glad I don't have the urge to do that anymore. |

If you like SWTOR, play SWTOR. If you like WoW, play WoW. But, you have to do either because you really WANT to. If you feel like you HAVE to, you should probably seek addiction help. I'm not currently playing SWTOR, but I plan to. If I don't like it, I will quit. But, I won't go back to WoW because I don't like SWTOR or any other game. I left WoW before Cata for a whole list of reasons. Those reasons have not changed, been remedied, or no longer matter. I made a choice to quit WoW. It doesn't have to be one game or the other. |

Originally posted by Souldrainer Lmao no, just no. SWTOR is nothing like Mass Effect other than its dialogue wheel thing, which is more of a Bioware trademark than a Mass Effect thing. On the other hand, pretty much everything else is exactly like WoW. |

Originally posted by Souldrainer I agree with that. WoW is a great game, no argument, but I like the variety I get with SWTOR, the Flash Points, Heroics etc. I have grouped more in a few weeks with SWTOR than I ever had in WoW. Don;t get me wrong, I played Wow since Beta, arguably the best game made to date, but times change as we all do. Nothing wrong with variety, it's the spice of life. |

Fair enough OP, but although I don't much like either game if I was forced to play one at gunpoint, my choice sure as hell wouldn't be Wow.

SWTOR is so far away from MMO I don't know where to begin!
I recently quit my geared (purplez and set / hardmode farm status Trooper.
The only reason SWTOR lasted as long as it did for me, was I found 3 other random people who were as upset as I was at the horrible "mmo" nature of the game. Finding groups to run hard modes is nearly impossible. Sitting in fleet spamming general chat is NOT an acceptable way to find group mates. Forced guilding is NOT an acceptable way to find group mates, and if you think it is, how do you find a guild? Sit in Fleet and spam?
There are ZERO provided useful ingame tools for finding groups or guilds. 1-50 was completely solo gameplay for me, almost no one you come across wants to group, and it's rare to see people gathering for the 2+ or 4+ missions.
4 man instance runs really limits the "mmo" flavor of a game. I cannot tell you how many times we were about to do our daily hard mode grinding when many people in our PLAYER RUN global chat channel would ask to join. OOPS sorry, only 4 people allowed.
SWTOR falls very VERY short of MMO. Game has been out only 2 weeks (or less) and I find running round low level zones looking for achievement unlocks or quests I missed to be completely empty. I rarely run into other players. The zones are large enough that the average 60-90 people in a given "instance" of a zone will almost never cross path....
I've played SWTOR, i've experienced all of it, i've done everything. Raided, Hard Modes, guilds, farmmed dailys. I can tell you, it feels very lonely. I believe the only enjoyment to be had in this game is between 4 good buddies. 4 players is not an MMO.
Reminds me of Guild Wars 1, small towns where you can chat with eachother, but any actual gameplay is basically by yourself or with 1-3 people max.

Meh.. It's hard to say now, < TOR fanboy. After getting max and raiding, I'm starting to get the itch to play the 'other' mmo. Oh wait wow? no, I'm talking about RIFT. Sorry, wrong forum. TOR's a great game, however I think many people will wait until the dust settles and the improvements take place. |
