Today i was so upset to relised that swtor is mainly instanced game that i couldnt play it anymore. It took me 28 lvls to realise it becuase the story and voice acting had charmed me but after i started getting bored of the repeating same voice acting i started seeing what this game has to offer instead of vo.

It has to offer nothing music sucks worlds are empty graphics worse than wow on ultra no open world not alive world no real time weather night sunset etc nothing nothingggg.I cant believe they released such a game.It fails in every aspect and more over i had head aches of all the bluryness and filters on graphics they have thrown on it to cover the ugliness. The graphics are not clear so u can play 10 hours straight. You play 4 hours and u are done your eyes get tired.while in wow 10 months ago i was playing 17 hours and i didnt had a single problem.

So i fired up wow again in all my sadness cause i wanted to play an mmo these couple of days and to my surprise... holy shit! i have to say that the graphics on 1920x1080 ultra DX11 8x anti-aliasing look 5 times better than swtor and the performance fps is 100 times better than swtor.

When cataclysm was released dx 11 was not implemented and there were fps issues etc but now that there is dx 11 support the game just looks stunning and performs smoother than ever at 120 fps constant on 120 hz monitor.

Anyway seems like there is god these christmas.I ll be playing wow till diablo 3 releases it looks awesome that i cant believe they have done so much improvement with the dx 11 thing.Awesome work.

have a nice christmas guys i found the game to play till diablo 3

Thats a huge breath indeed.

Have fun with the swtor single player irc.I will play it as well when it will become free to play or better b2p.

Now lets all have a great 2012 year.

I think WoW is a great looking game.

TOR should've spent more time in beta making their game run as well as it actually looks.

I think I'd rather slice either of my wrists than really try to put up with the crap game play either game offers tho'.

Still, this is a good post to note if any future developers of WoW Clones will be coming through. Spend more time copying WoW's graphics processing and animation response, and less on boring quest hubs.

I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

OP, although your opinion is noted and it is only your opinion, it will not stop anyone who is enjoying the game.

The problem with going back to WOW, in my opinion now, is that it's old.  I'm bored with it.  No matter how good the graphics are or have improved, the game is still WOW.  Do you eat the same dinner every day?  Do you wear the same clothes every day?

At the very least SWTOR is new and I for one am glad I don't have to see another elf or troll or dwarf.

I'm sure I'll eventually grow tired of SWTOR, but going back to WOW, has never been an option for me.  It feels like a step backwards.

So, glad you are having fun with WOW, but it's old and it's time for something new, for many of us.

Other than just a general complaint... I really don't see your point.

The instancing is pretty much on display. That little number in the top left corner of the screen tell you how many people are in that instance with you. Whats wrong with the instancing anyway? It keeps lag away and if your friends pop online you can zone to the same instance as them. Instancing only becomes an issue if you are expecting the game to be something its not.

Sure, the VO work is a big part of it, so if you get bored of it, then really its not the game.

Music is largely preference. And a huge percent of the population play with music off. Graphics are also stylized like WoW. They both have their own flavors. From what I can see, there isn't much of a quality difference between them (but I dont play max/ultra, dont care to either). I'll give you that the world isn't as open as WoW. Its more linear and compacted (being that most zones are linear questlines). You can goto them sooner than intended just like WoW. As far as being alive, I dont think WoW is any more "alive". Both appear to be equally filled with "life".

I have no idea what you say about the blur filters and hurting eyes. I haven't run into any issues with that or eyes hurting. Maybe you should check with a doctor?

I, personally, am enjoying SWTOR. I also very much enjoyed WoW when I played it. I don't dilude myself into thinking SWTOR will be or should be the next greatest thing. I play it for what it is. A story-driven RPG in an MMO environment. You can play solo or in groups.

I enjoy its crafting system. I actually like the questing system. Its more interactive and entertaining. You can skip it wil the spacebar but I'd rather not. I like parts of the gear system where you can upgrade items and keep upgrading them as you level. And these things I say I like are all my preference. To me, the things I like beat out the things I don't like to make me pleased with my purchase and I will continue to play this game for a while yet.

Some even feel they have to create multiple threads spouting the same things over and over again. Op why dont you stay with your earlier thread?

The biggest disapointment I've had with an MMORPG is what Blizzard did with WOW considering all the profit they have made over the years with the game.

They took an amazing open world and turned it into a Lobby Game. My kids consider the game too kiddy

Graphics seem fine to me. The AA thing disturbs me but its not a game killer for me.

The graphic styles between the 2 games are fundamentally differant. One is not better then the other I would argue.

Sorry you didn't like the game but touting wow as better because of the graphics is comical. Wow is a starter MMO. TOR is a starter MMO lol. TOR is new WOW is old. You need to come to terms with that by the sounds of it.

IMO TOR > WOW because I get a ship. You know player housing lol. Lame player housing but player housing in a themepark no less. In WOW all I get is a shitty community. Yeah you got rabbits and ambience running around the empty WOW world that is bigger that no one goes into. WOOPEE.......

I had alot of fun in wow over the years but wow is like an old girlfreind that has gotten fat lazy and bitchy with shitty relatives that talk all day and do nothing but irritate you. Seems a few MILLION people agreed and have bailed and are continuing to bail for wow now. And that all started before BEFORE TOR came out. SO whered they go? RIFT? mmm I think they just dispersed in general so when you start losing millions of people rapidly to nothing.....

On D-3 yeah it looks good. It should ...it only took them a fucking decade to make a simpler dumbed down version of the last game. Must have been all the monetization schemes they put in that took so long. Think I'll pass.

PS GUESS what game Ima go play now... anyone Ill pay money to someone who guesses right....

Hey man you keep at it and you'll have all kinds of stuff.

Because there should be a ton of people getting TOR as a gift, playing a bit, and moving on to greener pastures.

Hope that gets you a great job and a wife.

A few tons actually. I'm not sure about metic conversions, but every 10 to 15 average Americans who quit TOR because it's a boring wow-clone roughly makes a ton.

So tonnes, even. Several industrial cubic tonnes of human beings who will be ashamed that they purchased another hashed out crap MMO and bought into the "read to me Elmo" gimmick will move on to better games.

That fix it for you?

I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

SWTOR is not cartoony? Are we (in my case - was I) playing the same game?

Two very different styles of cartoon. Very different, but both very cartoony. Its like Family Guy vs Archer.

When mmos fail there is always Skyrim.

I already resubbed back to WoW. It is nice to be back in a world where there is real explorationa nd immersion is done right. Guess I'll be playing this until Guild Wars 2 releases.

Grim Dawn, the next great action rpg!
