A pure Vanilla server has been requested ever since BC, if they didn't give people that they sure as heck aren't going to give them a non-MoP server.

Vanilla server please, then I'll come back !

I don't think Blizzard wants you back. They had all the time to put up a vanilla server but they didn't. Learn to read the signs.

Pretty sure the moment they do cave and put up older servers.. -- well, that's when we'll know they're desperate.

They don't want to, they won't they've said many many times it will never happen.  So lets all move on.

They's hardly room to say they never will.

You do understand Blizzard, at one point in time, said they would never add faction changes and server transfers, right?

It's all a matter of time -- and money.

Yes indeed, they did say alot of things were going to happen that have happened and they've stated a lotof things WOULDN'T happen that have.

However, they are not going to dedicate resources to making a server for the complainist percent.  They are not going to go "backwards" there is no logical reason for them to do a classic server.  It will not make them money.

The fact we're having this debate is proof enough that there is a consumer base. How many threads have you seen about people willing to come back for vanilla or TBC servers? Hundreds, thousands - hell, maybe more if we consider the WoW forums themselves. There's definitely money in the operations, though how much is only speculation.

I'm not saying they'd do it anytime soon, but as a last-ditch effort somewhere on down the line.

I think the thing to note here, is that they aren't "making" money by not putting up a classic server, and they won't "lose" money if they do.

Although I think Cataclysm was an interesting idea, and could have worked very well had it been done right, the world of WoW wasn't set up for it. It wasn't built, to be destroyed.

Heh, i just do not get the panda hate stuff.

I always thought a monk type character would be fun to mess around with.  Will for sure read up on it closer to release and see if it has something i might like.

If it looks interesting to me to play a monk type, well, having pandas in the game will not keep me from trying it:P

Do you really think people who are NOT subbed will REsub for a Vin server?

Something they played 6 years ago?

Paying a 15 dollar a month fee... to play something from 6 years ago...

I don't see this as being a sustainable business plan.

A simple truth-"What people want and what is good for an mmo is not always the same thing"-mrw0lf

Blizzard has never shown any interest in alternate rules servers, mostly because they've never had an incentive to do so. Who knows, subs fall off enough maybe they'll consider a FFA unverse someday. That would bring me back for another go.

Creating specific servers for previous expansions would be almost pointless for Blizzard. A good chunk of the people who would want such a server are already playing on one. There are well populated private servers for all of the previous iterations of the game. Well, not so much for BC, but that's about to change.

The people playing these free servers are not likely to go back to a newly created Blizzard server as they are already getting exactly what they want for free. The only real incentive would be the support that Blizzard can provide.

So OP, if you want to keep playing WoW without having to get MoP, your best bet is to find a good private server.

The people that rock are all on Titan, forget about WoW until those key devs get put back into leadership roles on WoW.

I think it's funny that people are complaining about pandas but are more then happy to run around as big blue talking cows.

All i can say you is good luck on trying to find a game that equals what WoW is, MoP is beying published (in my opinion) to return everyone that quited on Cataclysm.

I did'nt find cata so bad, its not like TBC or WotLK, but its a preety decent role. So I supose MoP is going to become a mix of BC whit Cata. I wish the best or else I supose I must quit too.

Why do they call stuff Vanilla anyway? Just curious. The best I can come up with is that its before they add any toppings. Just the plain ol ice cream with nothing added.

Themepark isn't a genre, its an excuse.

I find it hilarious how certain people say that they won't play WoW due to kid-amplification they think Mist of Pandaria will introduce.

It is funny because one of the key traits of a teenager, which in the eyes of mature adults are still considered to be "kids", is the extreme overreaction to anything that may connect them to young children. As such, this insane fear of pandas just tells me that you are most likely either a kid (teenagers are still kids) or in such state of mind.

100% spot on.

I know a lot, a hell of a lot, of people that play WoW. Both online and in real life. The real adults have abolsutely no problem with the pandas at all. The complainers are almost totally from that kind of adolescent age where they're desperately trying to dissassociate themselves from the tag of 'kids.'

I totally bug the hell out of my friends that play WoW because of the panda thing.  It's only a game, but they've invested alot into the game, and I can't pass up the opportunity to hassle them about it.  Face it, panda's are cute, and when you bug a guy about playing cute stuff, it tends to bother him. I don't want to bug them too much though, I'd hate for them to be a sad panda.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I disagree.

As an adult, I have a huge problem with childish implications in games.

Most of the time the factors making a game childish are the very same factors making it dumbed down, which is a huge turn-off.
