Is there a feature from another MMORPG that you would like to see added to WoW?

maybe doesnt have to be a MMORPG feature, could also be something from a non MMO game. what features you yearn for in WoW from another game?

I've said it before, and I will say it again here...sure, why not, eh?

World of Warcraft

Two "main" alliances - the Horde and the Alliance - splintered alliances though.  Each of the races would be their own faction.  A player would also be able to pledge themselves to one of the many "neutral" factions out there (much like they ignore any racial constraints with their members).

The overall scale of Azeroth and beyond would be increased.  That trip across Elwynn just got longer.  Stranglethorn...?  Bring a book, it's going to be a while...

Each of the cities would be under the protection of the city guard.  The city guard would be sufficient to destroy any invaders.  There could be suicide ganks - but the guards will whack you.  The zone directly outside of the city, would still be relatively safe...it would take the city guards and patrols longer to react - there would have to be some witness that called them, etc.  The connecting zone (yes, we would have to split up the zones as we increased the size of the world) would be even less safe - you're at the perimeter of the city's control area....

...beyond that - you reach the borderlands... a place crawling with bandits, but a place with better resources than those already heavily mined by the cities...

...and beyond that - you have the land where players can forget their own little kingdoms!

Blah, blah, blah... yeah, I'd love to EVE/Shadowbane-up WoW.  I mean, seriously... how about World of Warcraft with some actual... you know...Warcraft?

There is so many great things out there that would make a great addition in WoW...

- EQ2's AA system

- DAoC's RvR including all personal and realmwide goals (keep taking darkness fallss, realmkeeps, RvR points)

- LOTRO's skirmishes

- LOTRO scaling dungeons allowing for solo dungeons and scaling every dungeon up to raid size...

- EQ's and Vanguards open world dungeons and raid zones

- AoC's mounted combat

- LOTRO's Books and stories

- More minigames comparable with the soon to be added pokemon game (racing games, medieval soccer game)

- Housing comparable to EQ2's housing system

- Hardcore server with real deathpennalties and temp stat loss for PvP deaths

There are so many great things that WoW because of its simplicity is missing out on.....

Not really from another MMO but from there own RTS, I would like a zone that lets players build buildings that increase the factions stats and lets the factions farm gold to build the units like in Warcraft 3, they can also be distroyed,a zone with 24 hour warfair over resoures, territory and control.

Make the whole world a battle ground where each side are able to capture points like Goldshire under the Horde control and treat Stormwind like an Icecrown Raid where the final boss is Varian. And if Varian falls, SW becomes a Horde stronghold where Alliance rebels can retake.

I mean, they already changed the world once with Cata, why not change it again. The World of Warcraft should be that...crafting war.

Housing would be good if it was done more along the lines of the EQ2 housing and not the LOTRO style. I also like collecting things. Rift has this, but again, EQ2 collecting, to me, is more fun.

Agree!  Now that would be fun.

Also, would like to see some type of alternate advancement if they didn't do that.

Get rid of gear grind, make it where you can use your points for stat upgrades, abilities, and such. (see DAOC)

More achievements, once you kill 100 orcs, etc..

I would really like them to undo the last 5 years of "improvements" and "features" and give us vanilla WoW back.

I see a lot of people wanting "vanilla" WoW back.   Surely one of you has some money and can create a server. It's not that expensive and it's not that difficult to set up.  Get the word out and BAM, you have a thriving "vanilla" server.  I know a guy that has a BC server and they have 7500 people on it.

Now to get back on topic:

I'd like to see some AOE looting, a fun thing like the music feature in LotRo, player housing, a mentoring system to get people out of the cities and back in the world.

eve's Market system, particularly the ability to place BUY ORDERS and to buy PORTIONS OF A STACK.

it's a small thing but...come on. eve's graph analysis...addons can do for us. the two mentioned above addons can not do.

No we have a theme-park MMO with Liightsabers. :D

a mentoring system like EQ2 or COH sidekicks

They should do what Dark and Light did...........go away

-Critters that fight back: ninja squirrels and cows

-Ability to change sex, looks, class , level and game with a button.

-Server vs player pvp: all the server vs a single guy.

-Player constructed Barbecues

-Bared breasts just like Age of Conan with high fantasy options: you can choose the number of breasts and where on your body you want to display them. Also , not restricted to females.

-Kung fu fighting panda bears as a playing race...no wait, thats too damned ridiculous.

1. Housing - EQ Style, no LOTRO please!

2. Deleveling system and mentoring so I can visit the low level zones without one shotting everything. They should also let you slow down the leveling speed similar to what EQ is doing.

3. Dyeing system! 

4.Appearance system - oh wait they've added that :D

5. Guild Battles!

6. AA system similar to EQ. Not necessarily the same system but the idea of progressing along a different path which you can do at max level. They were going to add this with Path of the Titans. It's beyond me why they scrapped it.

7. Collectibles similar to EQ! Yes please, Also they can add some books scattered across the world which you can collect to read about the lore.

+ any other feature which will give you extra things to do at max level. Blizzard are doing some of these things e.g. pet battles, scenarios, challenge dungeons etc.

There are books in WoW, and there is an achievement to read them all :)
