I agree with the sentiment of "that just won't work." I can only speak for myself, but....I love sandbox (UO vet), but I do NOT want to play with WoW's community. UO both pre and post Trammel were heavenly in comparison, and that....is saying a lot. I would rather take a rusty knife to my own throat than play WoW as a sandbox. Just one opinion. Originally posted by DeathTouch No it's not. You must be thinking of Tera. AA is still in closed Beta and is blowing people away in every stage of it so far. TONS of vids out there to see how good it is, too. Just google ArcheAge Closed Beta 3. |

Originally posted by Nerf09 Conjecture. Game is still in closed beta. Pointless battleground? A whole continent set aside for exactly everything you wrote in your original post, empire building, castle sieges etc, and you call it a pointless battleground? I think you have WoW goggles on and they seem to be stuck. |

Originally posted by Nerf09 One of the reasons the developers created battlegrounds was because the servers couldn't handle hundreds of players in combat in the same area. They even put a limit on Wintergrasp for the same reason. I think your idea would actually prove quite popular. Unfortunately, I don't believe WoW's technical capabilities are up to such standards yet. They could try to distribute players to different areas, but inevitably there is going to be some huge clashes. At least, that is what I would hope for and expect from such a feature. |

That would bring in a lot of RTS'ers but not many Sandboxers I dont think. |

Originally posted by drbaltazar That's sounds like it's too far on the Eve Online side of the spectrum where it takes years of grind to build a POS, and it has a trillion hitpoints. I'm talking more on the RTS side of the spectrum where it takes 1 click to build something and 30 seconds to destroy it with 1 NPC unit. |

I don't like Starcraft 2 cause the games are too fast, it's a clickfest, whoever outclicks your opponent and takes methamphetamines wins, you can't outthink your opponent when you're clicking like a tweeker. But combine WOW with it's character development with RTS principles like construction and land ownership, slow down the RTS part of RTS, and boy you got a real winner. |

You know what WOW is? It's a glorified Donky Kong. |
