The differences between the races are so tiny, they are nearly non-existant. The length of your fingers have a greater impact on the damage of your character, because you can reach some buttons more easily, than the race of your character. Your age, computer isp, reactions, knowledge of the game, concentration while playing etcetc weight a thousand times more than the race. You will never meet someone who does more damage only because of the race of their character. Not to mention that such tiny amounts of DPS increase are totally irrelevant in the game.

There was a time when there was no such thing as a race transfer. In any game. For any amount of money. It wasn't that long ago.

What is this nonsense about writing a letter to have it done for free anyway? What game did that for you? I've never heard of that being an option.

The OP sounds like a cheap !@^%.  Ante up and pay or reroll to the race you want.  Its not part of your sub, its an EXTRA service (which btw, doesnt have to be there at all, most other MMOs don't allow races changes).  If you cant afford 20 Euro (or $25 bucks) you need to stop gaming and get a job (or another job).

On the subject of cost...there is a free option, it's called rerolling.

The price is set at that level not because Blizzard is greedy but because Blizzard doesn't want you to do it and wants to discourage any but the really serious who are willing to pay that price to do it. They at least do give you the option. If you really, really hate your character's race and want to spend the money then you can do it.

And, as other people have pointed out the racial differences issues are pretty minimal and certainly not worth all this QQing.

Yeah, great idea, just let everyone switch every day. Choices you made at the beginning of the game shouldn't matter. Just let us all change and change and change to whatever race we want. Why not add free class changes when we are at it?

Honestly, worst idea ever. Most games don't even offer race changes. You made your character at the beginning. It's your responsibility to choose what you like or need. If you are unsatisfied, just make a new character, how hard is that? You made your character, it's not like Blizzard forced you to make it. And honestly, your post is very suspicious. Somehow, I get a anti-Blizzard vibe from it, but maybe that's just me.

There are going to be people that wanted a race/class combo that could not get it.  So you know Blizzard is going to pull in some money from this.

Did i say FREE?? no i did not, please learn to read. I said lower the cost of character changes so people won't spam it.

I did by the way mention other games that has it, but they have such a low player base so they do it for free if you ask the right people in support.

If you want free, go play a board game!  If that isn't good enough for you, then you can't afford to play games and should be working on improving your financial life instead playing games!  If everything was free, we would all be playing with stones people!  Blizzard doesn't have to change that price, people will pay it and some can pay it!

Account services such as 'Race Change' are always expensive, regardless the game you're playing. It's heresy to be able to change your character like that in a RPG, but since they did focus on End Game for years it became acceptable.

remember when there was no race chance, faction change, server change, etc?

you didn't like your race? spend 4 months re-rolling a new char.

your friend played on a different server? spend 5 months re-rolling on a different server.

wanted to play different faction for a wile? spend 5 months levelling a new char.

it wasn't that long ago my friend. you are spoiled that you can pay to change just about anything on your char these days. and if you dont want to pay? then just spend a week and re-roll a different race, ffs. levelling it's retardedly easy now days.

I wish they didn't let you do it, I liked it when you had to re-roll if you wanted to change something major like race or class.  I would like realm transfers to be free on the other hand though (maybe with a limit on time between transfers or something like that).

Paid Character Transfer - $25

Faction Change - $30

Race Change - $25

Name Change - $10

Appearance Change - $15

Are the paid services they offer.  Some are questionable and some are highly questionable.  They are definitely a source of additional income at a very high profit considering that the canned scripts they would run...

There are free migrations available where there are population issues.  Allowing free migrations in general would lead to population issues and would not be a good idea.

Still, the most you could spend at a givne interval would be $70 - transfer, faction change, and appearance; since race is included in faction and name within appearance.

Change from female Dwarf Paladin to male Tauren Paladin with a new name on another server would cost you $70.
