well I just started back up on my WOW account about four days ago... Then I went to log on and I was notified that I had been perma banned for economy exploitation. for one I don't even know what that means, and four two I don't beleave that I have done anything against the rules. The only thing I can think of is that a friend gave me twenty gold. I'm not rich iether. I only have about 70 gold... idk what the deal is, and I don't know what I did wrong. all I know is that this is rather disheartening, and that if my accound continues to be perma banned after my appeal which I sent in a couple days ago then It will be rather annoying being as that I had almost 56 days left of perpaid game time Anyone know what I should do? |

Call the account support line directly. I don't know the number.
In the worst case scenario, they owe you a refund for the time card. They cannot allow you to reactivate a banned account and take money for it. If the account was banned before you reactivated it, then blizzard has chosen to break the contract with you and cannot charge take your money for a service they have chosen not to provide.
I suspect there is more to your story though. When exactly did you get banned? |

Just the appeal and cross your fingers. Or, get a new account under a new name and not do what you did before. Whatever it was. |

June 15th. And I'm not sure what I did... I read the terms, and I didn't do anything against, and I didn't recieve a warning for anything. I just got straight up perma banned for economy exploitation... |

Possible the gold you had was gained thru exploit. |

how do you gain gold in the classification of Economy Exploitation? |

Anyone else have your account info? I just find it hard to believe that they would up and ban w/o proof. WHat i am about to say here is not calling you a liar, but most posts like this has key information left out. either way tuff luck on your part. not much else you can do when slapped with a perm ban. Just talked to a firend who is a GM aparantly there is a huge Gold buying sting going on he said close to three thousand accounts have been perma banned. Ouchies. Moral of the story don't buy gold. |

well you should talk to your friend here... I'm not gonna tell you my acc name or anything so that it stays anonymous and can be taken seriously, but I have seen a number of people who say the have been perma banned and didn't do anything. I did get twenty gold as a gift from a friend but I would never buy gold... that's for lamers. oh well lets just hope that Blizzard realizes that I'm innocent. |

Nope, they would say they ain't and this is all an injustice etc etc. Now, supposing your case is genuine, what can I think of is that your FRIEND's gold was bought from a gold seller and Blizzard tracked it, saw you had it and supposed you were the gold buyer. That or your account was hacked and the hacker used it to do his own dirty business for a few days, got caught and perma banned. Both of these can be solved with an appeal or by phoning them. Good luck! "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime" |

Good luck! Blizzard would not think that by receiving 20g would be buying gold, I mean seriously, the normal minimum you can buy is 500-1000g. Oh, and to the OP: It has happened to me before, I've lost 2 accounts to it and they dont give a crap and you won't get your account back, at least, this is my experiences.

Economy exploitation could be something like buyin off all of some resource from AH, then selling that recourse at ridiculously high price, and making sure that the price stays high by buying yourself always when someone sells at lower price. But if you have only 70 gold you wouldn't have money for such thing. |

You will get your account back all you have to do is not be a retard and ask they will restore it. If they ban your account there is a GOOD reason. Either you paid someone to powerlevel , you bought gold or a gold seller was able to hack your account and was using your account to deliver gold and spam gold selling while you were not on. |

Volkmar is telling the truth. Very very very few cheaters have the courage to come out and admit what they did when their accounts get banned. It is almost always "I didn't do anything, my accounts just got banned for no reason". As if blizzard would just randomly ban people for no reason. Also, companies can't "track gold" in the manner some people are suggesting. They might be able to track who is selling gold by their transaction histories and who they sell to, but once the buyer receives the gold and mixes it in with their own bank it becomes one pool of money. For example if someone buys 1,000 gold and adds it to their own 500 for a total of 1,500. If that person gives you 20 gold, there is no way for a company to know if it was the original 500 or the bought 1,000.
Long story short, if you didn't knowingly do anything wrong then customer support will sort it out and get your account back. Things like this are usually a hacked account that gold farmers are using to spam channels. If you bought gold or did something else against the rules then your account is gone. Blizzard is pretty savy about catching rule breakers. |

Sweet. Well the more of these I read it seems the more likely I will be to get my account back :) I've just gotta wait for Blizzard to sort the whole thing out |

I think they randomly pick accounts to ban. A few months ago my account was banned for illegal activites, funny thing is that the account has been innactive for nearly two years. After asking Blizzard if someone else was using my account (didn't care that it was banned, cared more about my personal info) they reactivated the account for 30 days but never answered me if someone else was logging in on it. It's a Jeep thing. . .
