Hi, I havent played Wow in over 2 years but just started again and I quit during late Wotlk. My main has mid to upper 80 epics (264, 251, etc) so I am sure I will replace that gear soon but I heard lving from 80-85 doesnt take to long, so I was wondering about 85-90? Could I get from 80-90 in a week or so playing casually. (My job doesnt allow me to play like I used too).

Really depends on what you term casual playing as i guess. It took me just under two weeks, but that was also a sustained session last Saturday evening until 3am (you know, only 10mill to go....only 8mill, may as a well do a couple more quests.....only 7mill and so on). It will also depend on how you do it as well because all of mine was questing apart from one dungeon run where as if you dungeon run a significant amount it may be little quicker. I am also going a little quicker with my Rogue and i was able to kit him out with some crafted blues to boost his start quite a bit. Just jump in and have fun. It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays. |

I really couldn't say 80-90, but 85-90 it took me(as a full time student) about a week and a half. Only took 3-4 days to go from 80-85, but I was much more hardcore and could play 10+ hours a day if I so chose. Playing |

It will probably take about 2-3 weeks of casual play (2 to 3 hours a night) to level from 80 to 90, depending on class and how often you group up. I leveled extremely quickly with a demonologist Warlock to 85 just before MoP. It took me perhaps a week and a half at most, but I mixed in some dugeoning with that, flower picking, and had a lot of rested status, etc. 85 to 90 I am still experiencing, but it seems to be going quickly, now that a lot of people have cleared the content and I am not waiting for respawns. In comparison to TBC and WotLK when they released, it is very easy to hit max level quickly.
Playing MUDs and MMOs since 1994. |

Worse thing about new expac is the no flying there till you hit 90.
Slows you down alot having to use the kites and ground to get around.
I would say it would take 10 days to 2 weeks for someone playing 2-3 hours a day. If less, it will be longer. The actual quest areas are kind of tight at times and it does not take many people to make the times hunting for quest kills/items to be longer.
Most of the quest areas are full of agro as well.. so you end up killing more than you need most of the time just getting in and out as well, which adds time on waiting sometimes. Since people just coming and going end up pulling quest mobs.

Originally posted by DarLorkar Wouldn't say that it slows you down too much as most of the quest chains will lead you on to the next area with a 'talk to x to fly you there' and as you said, a lot of the quest areas are tight enough, those with chains give you the subsequent quests on the fly and there are a lot of 'in field' pick up quests as well. It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays. |

Best thing about this expac is no flying from 85 to 90, imo. At least the best leveling feature.

If you play a ton you could do it in a weekend.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

80-85 probably 15 hours 85-90 probably 25 hours Catacylsm is really fast now. Also, keep an eye on the AH. There are a bunch of MOP weapons that have minimum levels of 80. I literally had an ilvl 420 2-handed sword (ie better than anything you could have ever gotten in Cata) that had a minimum level of 80. So basically the moment you start cata, you already have a better weapon then the best raiders had at the end of the expansion. There are a bunch of them floating around and they are very cheap. If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |
Originally posted by Psychow The reason I am in sort of a hurry is because I am trying to get to 89-90 (whatever is the min lv to do the HH boss this year (hallow's end event). I miss brewfest this year. I remembered back in BC/Wotlk, how piss easy the HH boss was, pretty sure he hasnt changed much since then, just more health. I think during Wotlk, you had to be like 78 to do the quest to fight him. I know you can summon lower lv chars to fight the boss (One group I was in, there was a 60s char). So I am hoping if I am only 85-86 (84 now) by the time the event starts, I can maybe get a group to let me come since the HH boss is no real challenge. |

Levelling took me about 35 hours to get from 85 to 90, playing normally, doing dungeons and not particularly rushing anything.

The brewfest boss was harder than most of the heroic dungeons bosses (if you do it in a full pug). It wasn´t difficult, but cakewalk like bc/wotlk isn´t accurate.
