Just read a poster on the forums and I will copy and paste his/her thing because I agree with it al:

Now, with this Cross realm zone thingy... We could have a living PvP world again. That thing that used to be so fun back in the days and what made me keep my subscription going...

But I forgot something, I'm not allowed to love it just because "Joe" doesn't love it. Because Joe want us all to stand in a circle around him in Stormwind and say; Wow, you got such a good epic gear from your last raid Joe, we all love you!" And then we all /salute Joe. Because that's what Joe wants! And so does his fiance Joelina! Because they choosed to play on a Pve server and now they heard something that made them really really mad!

They've heard that other people don't care about their achievements but rather go out in the world to engage other people from the other faction. Fighting!!! Oh noes.... says Joe and Joelina. This can't be happening, we don't like this!!! *Joelinas thinking about valid arguments about this abomination called world pvp* and voila!!!:

*Ah! Mining nods/herbs will be no more!! (it can be adjusted by player/area)

*Ah! Rp:ers will have a disaster cause of non rp:ers!! (I'm an RP:er myself occasionally and I'm not worried as long as they keep RP servers with RP servers and they will eventually!)

*Ah! The fishing tournament is out of sync, the different servertimes aint the same!! (This is the lowest of their arguments because the major population of wow aint participating in the fishing tournaments but OKEJ, STILL VALID IN IT'S WAY! World pvp when trying to win a fishing competition in STV? Hell Yeah!!!)

*Ah! I'm used to farm my things on my low populated server where there were no other player around.... (I respect you but I tend to disagree! I PAY REAL MONEY to participate in a MULTI online roleplaying game! There are singleplayer games outthere for sure....)

Now, bugs are bugs and unfinished features are unfinished but we all know, WE ALL KNOW, that when these feature is complete things will be just fine, such as:
PvP servers that are goin to be cross zones
aswell as
PvE servers that are goin to be cross zoned
RP servers that are goin to be cross zoned
RPPvP servers that are goin to be cross zoned

And eventually, the bugs will be taken care of! No worries.
But still this rage goin on... WHY?

Let me tell you:
Some people just don't like that other having their own way of fun. They want to force others into their way of playing but I say NO!!!!

It's time to stand up folks and protest against the happykillers that are known as "Carebears"!
It's time to say NO!!! Don't ruin our game!

And as a petition to the company behind this wonderful game: Please give people free transfers for a month when MoP release!! So that they can migrate to PvE servers once and for all and bring their friends with them!

Cincerely yours;
A World Of Warcraft World PvP:er who's subscribed because of Cross Realm Zones!
Love you All!

:)

Does this cross-realm server thing help hide the numbers that are bleeding away from WoW enough?  I heard that they've lost over half the NA playerbase now.  Not trying to bash, I'm just curious if it's making enough of a difference or not

Lol Joe and Joelina, the funny part about this analogy is that you assume they were on a pve server and can't grasp the concept of world pvp.. the sad depressing reality is that they both probably rolled on a pvp server and stil can't grasp it. After endless debating on the WoW forums, I've just came to the sad conclusion that WoW gamers should no longer be called MMO players but WoW players.

I've come to the conclusion that you care far too much about what other players think. So what some people cry about it, the vast majority likes the changes, why focus on the few whiny babies who can always go to a pve server.

You hate WoW players, who fucking cares?

I think the main reason they did this was because merging servers wouldn't fix the problem, it would only make endgame content crowded.  It's already ~15min queue for dps, imagine if they merged 5-10 servers into one, it'd be like an hour wait for dps (that's why I like druid, I can heal and get insta-invite lol).  So this lets people that are leveling alts to level together across realms, without making endgame too crowded.

I have no clue about the subcription numbers, but I have alot of friends in the MMO community (My RealID has been full since day one...please blizzard raise cap to like 500 lol).  I've been talking with alot of them, or they've been asking me what's new in WoW.  Alot of them are coming back for MoP.  People have wanted Pandaren since Burning Crusade, alot thought alliance was going to get Pandaren in Burning Crusade lol.  I love the Pandaren, always have.  Alot of people like Thrall, Cairne, Jaina, Illidan, or one of the numerous heroes, but not me.  I always liked Chen Stormstout :D  (fyi, I have the name Chen saved on my server, so don't try it lol.)
