yeah teh game has be going done hill since patch 1.10 when bgs were put in hunting players down for kills to get gm was much more fun then bgs but it's not even a viable way to get honor now so u cant even choose that route if u wanted to. I would love some pre 1.10 servers. |

agree. well. i dont know why they wanted to move the lvl cap up, because, wow is nothing about the lvl cap, because all the players, playing wow, will get in that in like 3 days. so, i dont get it. why havent they just made some more instances, new gear or skills etc. but just kept the same lvl cap. Back in the old school days, it was fun to lvling :( |

It's ironic how wow players are looking for old school servers but laughed at the old school players back in 2004. You had a good laugh at swg players but now wow players are starting to understand. |

Go back to EQ for some hurt, hell even some Muds had 200 man encounters that took DAYS to drop the boss. The hard reality is as you get older, you'll find yourself saying that more and more about, well, everything. |

hmm. . . . i have alwaysed think that wow, was better back at the 60 Cap days. and i havent really been a fan of the TBC or any expansion so far. there is just something missing. And i have been looking for a new MMO, but nothing havent really caught my interest. |

Originally posted by idgarad Yeah but at least when you're old most things that you like to do are still around. Like playing cards, chess, etc. With MMORPGs, you can never play the original version again because nobody kept the software anywhere on an old hard drive or refuses to release it. That is why MMORPG media sucks. |

@OP
Not gonna happen. Really. This was brough up many times for years. It's just not gonna happen.
Blizzard thrives on many people that are not content with current WoW and it's direction, but that have good 'memory of past times' + some old pals still playing. I personally know many people that still come back to WoW every new expansion is released (and sometimes in between) - 99% of those people leave WoW again after anything between 2 weeks and 2 months usually beign disapointed. Still many of them still do hope that Blizzard will somehow 'revert' WoW, make it more suited for Vanilla-BC players, etc
That's never gonna happen.
Really deal with it and go either look for new mmorpg or take a break from genre for a while.
As long as you keep subscribing / buying things from cash shop / new expansions - nothing will change.
See it from Blizzard perspective - many players who 'whine' only do that - they whine (look official WoW forums) but they still PAYING. So why would they change their direction in WoW if old/more hardcore/nostalgia players stay and their policy towards WoW (like pandas, pokemons) might bring new players + new revenue source (I bet pokemons will have loads of things on cash shop). |

I loved Vanilla WoW. For me, the downhill slope started with the release of TBC and Arena's. Looking at how the subscriber base grew from there, it looks like I'm in the minority.
Wish the leveling process wasnt so fast and so damn easy, wish they had hardcore servers that put some challenge back into the game world. I might try the game out again if that were the case.
Oh Well... |

Vanilla wasn't as great as folks try to say it was. The nostalgia is strong with this one. |

Personally, the huge amount of people needed for Raids is exactly what turned me away from WoW to begin with. I don't have the time nor desire to spend all my evening hours doing Raids. |

Originally posted by MMOtoGO What made Vanilla great for me, compared to how it is now. Is the difference in the difficulty. Forget the 40 man raid crap. leveling was alot more challenging, dungeons were alot more challenging. That is what I would like to see return.
But that will never happen and thats no problem. There's a few great looking games coming up on the horizon. Looking very much forward to "Copernicus"
I'm personally done with Blizzard games. I absolutley despise the route they have taken with there games in the last few years. |

well. i have also just lost the hope for a Vanilla server, or more. The world of warcraft have been destroyed for me. i will never go back, and i hope that i will find a new MMO some day to play, and give me the same experience as WOW did. It was a good game, but now i have simply just been destroyed, panda's and pokemon, is **** in my ears! |

never going to happen OP blizz has stated they have no intention of ever doing it. 40 mans weren't fun, you have nostalgia. As someone who had to find people to fill 70 man raids in EQ trust me, new can be better. |

Originally posted by tumper92 This is how I felt about UO when they introduced Trammel. I'd sympathize however they didn't introduce NGE esk game breaking mechanics or game changes that ruined the spirit of the game in anyway. You are upset over cosmetic changes and some optional side content. WHAT? You say you are yerning for Vin WoW days yet you are still playing Cata and apparently the changes from Cata to Mists is what is killing WoW for you. Well none of the proposed mechanic changes are going to take the game further away from Vin WoW rule set. I think you should re-evaluate why you are angry OP. Pandas are cute! |

I ran one 40 as a healer, called in from a friends guild to help out. What an experience, it was chaotic and a struggle to keep up.
I was not prepared*.

They will never do that because most of the Western player base, north America and Europe would ALL leave the new servers and go play BC, or Vanilla.. maaaaaaaaaabe WOTLK but thats it. It would showcase what a bad Job Ghostcrawler has really done on the game, embarrass the company and show the negative influence kids and the Chinese gold famer players have had on the game. |

lol. yeah right. everyone screams bring back old school wow. i say down with mods as well. go back to playin wow without mods. what happens when a patch releases and no mods work? everyone cries like 10 yr olds. there can never b old school wow again. U CANT HANDLE IT |
|
Im not saying that i cant handle it. but there was so much more social play in Vanilla, than there is now. Now u can farm your gear in 2 days, and you will have all epics, you couldent do that in Vanilla. u had to be more only, and raid with your guild. Not saying that 40man raids wasent a chaos. but ppl clearly dont know what they are talking about I think most of the ppl saying that 40man raids was a Chaos, hasent done a single one. |
