Now, first of all, I no longer have a WoW account, had I had one, I may have panicked and clicked the link.. however.. the link  .. which is to http://www.worldofwracarft.com   .... take note this was not me just fudging the typing, thats the actual site,  was obviously wrong.   For all you warcrafters out there, just a heads up.

Also, the e-mail is from Wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com  ... just take note if you receive an e-mail from them..

Totally wrong.  And if you got such a email, do not click on any links there to contact Blizz.  If you need to contact Blizz, type in the web address through your keyboard.

I receive these phish mail every few weeks, on everyone of my 5 email accounts.  Only one of them has been once associated with WoW.  These phish emails are desperate mass mailing from hackers hoping some fool will fall for it.  They will mail this to Obama himself if they got his address, b/c, they are mass mailing so many copies, they have no time to check who they are mailing to.

To defeat these phish emails, create a new email account, for the purpose of converting your accounts to battle.net.  Once converted, never use that email address again for any purpose.  Of course, log in once in a while to make sure it stays active.  So long as you never use that account, hackers generally have no chance of finding your email address and sending anything to that account.

Not really wrong, I did NOT click on any of the links or the email it self, I simply deleted them, and my account was still hacked.

Oh by wrong, I mean, you might not be hacked at all, and still getting those spamming mails.

Sorry I wrote too carelessly earlier.

{grins} and i should have been more clear as well. Yesterday I went to go merge my NEWLY created battle.net account with my exisisting WoW account and it gave me the message "this account has already been merged with a battle.net account", and I had never taken any sort of action to do so before. :) cheers :) for late night posting (i tend to be less specific some times :P)
