Is really a good idea for resources to spawn outside a mine or cave.

I am not really sure why it would be a bad idea...?

a better question is, is it a good idea for resources to spawn?

No not really.  The only reason I posed this question. Is the simple fact that they have mines in the game and the only thing you really find in they is mobs.

Seems like a deja vu to me...like I saw this once on WoW forums posted by a troll. Anyway, yes, imagine 100 people, 40 of them being 80's, camping a low level mine on a PvP server because they need to take their mining up.

Comparing MMOs with burger companies-the epitome of logic.

As ooposed to them running around the entire map trying to find things to mine, and killing everything in thier path? Now, I dont agree that they should ONLY be in mines. I think that would be terrible. But your example is not a very good one. The low levels could just avoid the mine if they wanted, and still have plenty of area "level 80 free".

There are like max 2mines/zone tho, and even if, let's say, we'd make mines the places where you get the most veins but still put mines in mountains, most people would still go to mines because it's easier and you won't have to spin around 15 times like I used to in Badlands(oh and I never kill lowbies, unless I know they're alts of drama people). I think it's the best now.

Yeh you are right. That to not match WoW idea in general...

Usually there is a bigger density of mining nodes inside of the mines/caves than outside, not just mobs...

Actually iZakaroN that is exactly what happens in WotlK.

The best lucrative droppings and spawns are in the central open world PvP zone of Wintergrasp.

Best mats, best drops, most fought over zone in Northrend PvP ALWAYS on for everyone (and ALL high levels, so no ganking).

And it is not only there btw: It is NO coincidence that better quality meat (for cooking) is dropped right next to the daily open world PvP quests (with a pve theme) in Grizzly Hills.

So dear iZak, this IS Blizzard you know...First play the game then make comments...

To the OP: how far are you in the game? , as mines spawn everywhere ....not only in caves.

The idea is, that one can pick up the resources while questing/traveling/doing other things. That wouldn't be possible if every vein was cramped in those few caves you normally rarely go to.

WoW is not a game meant for dedicated crafters or gatherers. Learn to live with it.
