Hi.

I dont know if the game has changed or if it's just me. The world just seems more unfriendly all of a sudden ;-)

I've leveled up a new alt and I though I'd run some hc's with him, ppl (this is true) often ask even for epic achievments just to run a few hc's. OS10 and Naxx10 I'm not even going to get started with what the state of that is. I mean this is just silly, I have a hard time even seeing how u can fail at for example os10 as a newly dinged lvl 80...

I think ppl are bored, getting bored and just tired of the game. It's a community of fools and addicts that are starting to feel the walls closing in on them. Ofc I'm starting to feel very bored myself. I've more or less cleared Ulduar with my main, thought the feeling of that raid was very bland compared to say when I stepped into Black Temple..

Maybe it's time to try something new, I hear AoC are starting to get their act together ;-)

You thought Ulduar was bland?

Okay, I think it is time for you to take a break and play something else. I loved Ulduar and found it to be the most interesting raid dungeon since probably Khara or maybe even MC.

People are getting bored, it is really no big surprise. The game is nearing the end of this expansion cycle. 3.2 will bring back a lot of players but they will grow bored a few months later and leave. Then 3.3 will bring back more and then they will leave until the expansion.

It is the same cycle that has gone on since launch and will continue as long as WOW as around.

Personally, I have found that mostly its the troublemakers and asshats that have left and the community that is left is more mature and are very casual and are all about enjoying the game or serious raiders who really keep to themselves.

I think u are correct ye. I should play something else ;-)

But I also think u are one of the ppl who keep to themselvs and ppl they know because the community at large I would hardly think have matured over say the last year..

No I just think I am on a really good server is all. Most people discredit my comments about the community and I can only speak to the community on my server.

Yes, because the 20 or so players that you've directly interacted with in-game are entirely representative of the 12 million players of WOW>.

It always amazes me when people have so little insight.

It amazed me how long it took for someone to come along with a rude comment, speaking of communitys that is.

Why would I comment on 12 million other people that I do not come into contact with?

And I contact a lot more than 20. Our guild has several hundred and I know many members of two larger guilds on the server very well.

Community is the people around you. Back in the day, people would pick servers based on the community of that server. Today, people have, unfairly so, used the term community to describe an entire group of people who play a game.

That would be like me saying my community is the state of Georgia, not to mention my town. To me, where I live, my community is the people I come in contact with regularly not everyone around me.

What makes a community is debatable but I think for gaming purposes it is a much smaller definition than an entire game's subscriber base. For me, a game's community has always been server based. The servers that I reside on are my communities because I could careless about the other servers. Simple as that.

I wasn't discussing communities, I was discussing the over-arching health of the game right now.

I was using my guild as an example because they were the people the game was made for (the WAR community - mainly the tabletop players) and they have fled from the game, never to look back.

Its an apples to oranges comparison because the points trying to be made are different.

here is my example of damn I hate everyone....

I'm on my 3 month away from wow in 2 days, for the last few days I'm on a trial account trying to find people i use to know on Coilfang Alliance or Borean Tundra alliance to find an old friend whom I liked to give me a scroll of ress so they get one free month of wow cuz I'm gonna reup.

It is impossible to find anyone to send a simple tell to my old level 80 friends or level 80s whom I reconize their names to actually talk to them. The level 80s are busy not responding in says when you see them in stormwind or just flat out don't respond.

I can't even give away a free month of wow to someone whoose name I at least reconize.

I do not want to give my free month away to some person who spams a stickied thread at the top of this forum.

I even did a say in stormwind saying I wanted a scroll of ress and even said my email address in my say did not even get a response from the 20 people around me. I do not know what to attribute this being ignored/no resposne to that gold sellers have so screwed up trial accounts or even people not being friendly when your trying ot talk to someone just in normal says.

When I played, which was a few years ago.  I encountered mostly immature people.  This was on Gorefiend.  When I looked at other servers it was more of the same.  WoW has earned it's award of being the "Worst Gaming Community".

well since you only gave a one-liner as a response I'll simply say you are wrong but have a nice day. You cannot initiate tells/whispers but if someone gives you a tell/whisper then you can reply/whisper all day long to that person.

Okay since you want to be so smart about it, I will break your post down even more then.

Why are you asking others to send tells to your friends? First off, I would not do it either because I might get in trouble if you turn out to be a gold farmer or the such. As a matter of fact, if you were in a city and spamming something about sending tells to your friends, I would put you on ignore.

If you were advertising your e-mail in the tell as well, I would surely think you were a gold farmer or a hacker or something is not on the up and up.

Also, I am curious why you think that this is the best way to contact your friends. If it is an old friend, it seems that you have an e-mail address or some type of contact info at least through a website or something.

Also, why were you spamming and what were you spamming trying to find this person? Did you not know their name?

If you didn't, then I have to question how much of an old friends they were. I remember my friends from the day or launch until now....especially if it was someone I considered an old friend.

If you did know their name, then why not go to the armory and look them up.

Sorry but it is hard for me to believe that the ONLY way you had to contact someone who you consider an old friend is through asking random people to send random tells to random people asking them to send a random tell to you, a random person. See how random that is?

If my best friend in this world created a trial account and some character whose name I did not recognize and asked someone else to send me a tell, they would go on ignore. Why? Because I know they have an account and I KNOW their characters name's and I would not accept any information from them or accept them to be who they say they are because its a name I do not know.

Simple as that.

Dood really are you that aggressive of a board warrior? Really? all I see if you being soo aggressive that you are not helping or being polite. Is it really that important for you to be correct that you want to shout someone else down. isn't this a perfect example of why the community is so inseular.

You posted why you think the community is bad. That is fine and great. I am calling into question why you did it and simply saying that, 9 times out of 10, people are going to react the way they did because of they way you acted in game. For a game, with its fair share of gold farmers and hackers, anything out of the ordinary is suspicious.

Standing in Stormwind, asking complete strangers to send tells to your friends and asking them to send you a tell back, is very, very suspicious. I personally wouldn't do it and I don't know anyone who would. The first question is WHY can't he send tells. Then its WHY is he on a trial account. Then the questions is WHO are these people I am sending tells too. Then its WILL they listen to me. There are just too many questions involved for someone to think doing this is okay as it relates to the TOS/EULA.

You are being critical of the community based on them not doing what you wanted which I am trying to point out is a suspicious in-game activity and honestly cannot blame them for ignoring your request in game.

OMG!!, can we please just not talk about that very awful unenjoyable game? Lets talk about the better games that are out there, or the better games that are coming out. I played that 3 letter game during beta then for a year and a half afterwards, now I just loathe that game. [Mod Edit]

Reactivated my AoC account. Not that I had played very much on it from start ;-) Need to get out of tortage before I form an opinion but change is usually good and it will be fun to try something new. Maybe wow was the same way when I started playing it but I was more mezmorized by it then. Cause it's a great game, no question about it.

Yes, take it from a former tester, get out of Tortage and give yourself a good 5-10 levels and then judge the game. It changes drastically. I thought that if ALL of AOC was like Tortage, I would have found my new MMO and never looked back. Sadly, that is not the case.

I will be interested to hear what you think of AOC now too since the new patch did revamp a lot. I do hope the game is a lot better.
