Since first news that come out from Blizzard about WoW It become most anticipated MMORPG for me. I have played since beta up to 2 months after release. I have leaved because of long queues, server crashes and unfinished PvP. After TBC release I come back for 1 year. Even all problems that make me leave WoW have been gone, I was more and more disapointed with every day I play in outland. Even pre TBC have some problems with exploration and freedom at all, Blizzard have completely removed it from the game, make it more linear and predefined: 1. World become much more zoned 2. No cross zone quests, just play zone after zone. 3. Dungeons (Instances) become absolutely linear with a little exceptions in raid instances. 4. Out raid bosses become even more pointless. When I make short overview I realize that the best content on TBC is Kara and Caverns of time so this give me hope that with WoTL Blizzard will change direction that WoW was changed with TBC and go back to the old Azeroth style and even improve it in the way opposite to the outland. Just want to check what ppl like and expect from WoW

I really did not care much for the quests that took you from 1 side of the world to the other and back so I rather enjoyed the linear style of Outlands. There were still a few quests that sent you from one area to the other but there weren't as many and they weren't as annoying for me anyway. I really didn't notice much of a change as far as dungeons go, they've always been rather linear in my opinion. I like the fact that WoW leads you in the right direction and doesn't just leave you to figure it all out on your own, however I realize that my play style is more solo in nature and therefore it fits my style. I'm sure that others would prefer a more open ended game, but in my opinion is that if that is what people want then there is nothing forceing them to do the quests. If you really don't like being told where to go or what to do, than just don't do the quests. Sure it will take you longer to level up that way, but then what is your priority, leveling up or being free to do what you want? The one thing I would really like to see is more exprience gained from exploring areas. You do get a bit of experience from discovering a new area, but it's just not very significant. I wish they would increase that XP about 10 fold or so. I don't think that would ruin the game and would give those who just want to explore and not follow the quests a little more incentive to do that. I'd also like to see a way to gain experience for crafting. Perhaps giving a small XP increase for each item crafted or perhaps a bit of experience when reaching certain milestones or for crafting items that increase your level or whatever. One of the things I really enjoyed about E&B was the fact that there were 3 unique ways of gaining experience which contributed to your overall level. You had a combat level, an exploration level and a trade level. I'd like to see that more incorporated into WoW some way. |
