Much more exciting then softcore flashy casual themeparks like GW2 and Rift. In VG soh it is a real RPG adventure in GW2/rift it is just surfing trough the levels in an artificial bling bling world. They are like plastic while VG is alive and kicking! MMORPG.COM should make a new review because this game is highly under-rated. I am a diehard fan and I hope it will continue to remain and hopefullu in the state it is now (hope not getting more casual to get in easy cash from softcore players) Tue Feb 12 2013 7:48AM

Ziyadah writes: The negatives first: the game still has a significant amount of bugs. Falling through the world in spots, some broken quests/encounters, lag issues, etc. It's nothing crippling, but it's annoying. The positives: - This game has more content in it than most MMOs do after two expansions. At any given point until you reach near max level there are at least six dungeons that are level-appropriate for you to run around in, along with countless quests, and that's just the adventuring sphere. The diplomacy sphere opens up a lot of the game's lore, along with being necessary to complete some adventuring objectives. The crafting system is the deepest of any game that I know of - each item can be customized extensively to appeal to different classes and roles. The graphics are on par with any modern day MMO, although the art style may not appeal to everyone. It does, however, take a pretty hefty system to run it decently, largely as a result of being built on an outdated engine. The combat is fluid, and realistic - characters do not whip gigantic swords around like they're made of thin air. Attacks have a distinct weight to them, and characters use weapons appropriately - special attacks have different animations depending on weapon type. The weakness system used for attacks can open up group dynamics significantly. Overall, Vanguard is a fantastic game - if not for the botched launch, it would be a strong competitor in the current marketplace. Even as it is, the game is a lot of fun. It's a throwback to an older style of MMO, which may not appeal to the newer MMO generation, as it focuses more on long term reward than on instant gratification. Tue Oct 02 2012 9:32AM
cs74la writes: Fun, but not everyonns thing i guess, there is a lot to learn in crafting a diplomaci. Quests must be read carefull, else you will miss informations on how to finish them. Its a bit laggy sometimes and there are still bugs, that shouldn't be in such an old game, but its worth a try. Sat Sep 15 2012 5:07AM

InFlamestwo writes: The game is old but gives you what an old mmorpg should. With F2P the game should get a more stable community and hopefully high populated servers. The game is fun if you like it oldschool, Vanguard is also very unique so it's really up to what you prefer. The customer service is one of the best in the industry, you get answers in a few minutes or a few hours if you're unlucky. Vanguard could need upgraded graphics, upgraded models and better sounds. Overall Vanguard get a 7.25 from me. Sat Aug 11 2012 1:49PM
