Although to this point I am thrilled with the world in Vanguard and the look of it, I have been somewhat dissapointed but the toon models and the look. I was wondering what everyone elses thoughts were?

I really like the variety, and plus the wood elves look stellar. My personal favorite race to play.

Graphically has been my strongest gripe about the game.  Plastic looking skin with playdough hair.  Ughn...

That being said with the latest shader revision the character skin is looking better and the remodeling of how the hair (facial and non facial) is rendered was a MUCH needed improvement (I "think" there is currently only one screen shot showing the improvements, all others were prior).

Still a lot more room for improvement but its certainly much better than it was and exceptable enough for me.

I doubt they will get much better prior to release in terms of skin and hair texture and rendering.  As they are now focusing on racial animations/movement and body customizations to give each race a more distinct feel from each other than what they currently have.

I'll be very curious to see how this turns out, considering that vulmane (as much as I love the concept and lore) currently look like someone simply stuck a dog head on a man's body.  Doh...

So yeah...that definitely needs major tweaking.  We'll see what happens though eh?  ;)

I have to agree with you that the character models do look plastic and somewhat lifeless.  But it is hard to tell without playing the game.  The character models remind me a lot of EQ2's which were horrid.  EQ2's always looked cardboardy and lifeless and rigid when they would run and move. WoW's character models seemed much mroe alive because of the sway and movement they put in.  I hope they learn from WoW.  Small details add up and make a game look and play much better.

The look oike they have learned a little bit from EQ2's poor graphics by adding some color to the world.  It does not look as drab and boringa s EQ2.  But I can't say I am a fan of the terrain screenshots either.

Will there be funmode like in EQ2 where you can give your toon midget bodies with big heads?? cuz that is funny.
