Just wondering if the launch is in fact will be Jan 03, 2007. I am wondering because most retail websites have that as the ship date for Vangaurd. When all of the retail websites have the same ship date it tends to be the correct date of release for the game, unless of course the maker/publisher of the game decides to delay the release.

if the publishers ahve stated its the release then yes, in not then it could be anytime between now and whenver.

Indeed, i dont even understand why they set a date...better to make the game complete and after that they can say it will be published in 2 weeks or something.

This game has been in development for a long time and "family and friends" beta testing began in august of 2004. Gotta release it sometime....longest beta I ever heard of.

Yeah if they postpone launch it could result in a lot of fans committing to other games, possibly for good. They have had plenty of beta time to polish this game up. It better launch no later than early Jan. '07. I am confident that it will, just a haunch.

The most up to date info on release dates off the Official boards was some post referring to Winter of '06-07. That puts it anywhere up to March 23, 2007. My money is on a March release date since they have said they are in Beta 3 and will have Beta 4, then Beta 5 ( very short stress test ) and a release. Can't remember if there is a Beta 6 but if so 5 and 6 were supposed to be very very short and a matter of checking to make sure their servers can handle the load of release.

Yea it's just that Mcquaid has sworn up and down a few times that he can't forsee anything pushing back their target release date of Winter '06-07, but that if it did he would inform the community. Thats why my guess is for the very last possible day he could pick and keep his word (he's been pretty darn good about keeping his word or informing why he can't so far)

i guarantee you vanguard will not be released in January or before, if i am wrong i will never come to this board again and if i am right.... there really isn't a possibility it will release in January, i will be surprised if we are in beta4 by then. |

I know all of us fans want it to hurry and come out, but I know you wouldn't want it to come out before it was done. Anyways, I expect it to be released in Febuary - March. I don't think it will be ready by january. Current MMO of interest: Vanguard: Saga of Heroes |

its because of all the posts i have read from brad, i tried to dig them up earlier but its really hard to find them. but he explains that the beta3/4 time frame will be twice as long as beta2 was. basically going by what he said beta3 and 4 combined will last like 6 months, i also could have sworn that he posted than a more likely release date will be the end of winter than the beginning. also considering the fact that brad has said many times it wont be released before it is ready and i would not doubt it if he pushed it back even farther like June. believe me i want to play the game and wish it would be released in January, i just know its not going to happen....where is zippy when you need him? I'm sure he could find the links and probably explain it alot better than me. |

Brad stated, recently, that he was being asked for release dates and to give a new 'best estimate' he said January 1st 2007. I guess that is where the dates you have seen have come from (Jan 3rd to take into account the hilday period). I have heard a lot of people, on lots of forums, saying they don't think it will be realeased until March, at least. I think it will be before then. The screenshots and vids are starting to look a lot more polished and I think I recall a quote saying that the next phase of beta will be up soon after the end of October (or that's at least what I gathered from the quote). If we see 3 months of beta 3 and 4 then we could see the game by the end of January. I'm plumping for that cause I've booked a holiday, for 7 days, then. Make a halfling happy Brad...
