Brad gave some people permission to do a brief journal of their Vanguard experience. Here is one. http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=394 Not so nice guy! |

I thought the write up was pretty good. My main concern however is the screenshot. I keep seeing screenshot after screenshot etc ad nauseum, but very few "monsters" in them. It makes me a bit concerned about the density. I am not into running/horsing 10 minutes just to get to area with a few monsters. I know with NDA out there we won't really know the density, but I am a bit concerned so far.

I am assumeing that the lack of screen shots showing actual incounters, other then the few I have seen. Are due to they have kept most of the beastiry under lock and key. I have yet to see a good list of the monstrosities we will face there.

Great write up and a very creative idea! Not much of a role player myself, but the taste of the gameplay that awaits on the other side of Beta was exciting:) Thanks for the link.

Don't forget that part of Beta is populating the world. I wouldn't be concerned about mob density, when it is most likely that Sigil is working hard to iron out the current areas with mobs as they go.
It's a HUGE world, so it might take a bit for them finish! And knowing these devs, they aren't going to go for quantity over quality. "I am a biotic god! I think things... and they happen!"

Personally, I like big open spaces with gaps between mobs. I used to enjoy exploring around planets in SWG, and finding the best 'hunting grounds' for mobs, rather than WoW does where they are everywhere and you cant move without being attacked! From the videos and screenshots of the world VG is looking alot more like SWG than anything else. Which is hopeful! An interesting write-up. |

The Vanguard site www.vanguardsoh.com in the faqs it has a races and a classes section but doesn't tell much about any of them, just what they are in basics. There are I think 19 races and 15 classes at this time. There was a great article on the Necromancer that I read here http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=22 .Haven't seen much on any of the other classes.
