I understand that you will be penalised for deaths in this game. Items, xp penalties apparently? The question is, how easy will it be for you to die? Let's use WoW as an example (a game with no penalty). Will you Vanguard character be much more difficult for npc's to kill then in WoW? |

It is hard to answer that without playing the game. But the intention is that fights will last longer and be mroe challenging. In WoW there is a rather large margin of error that promotes sloppy play by group members because groups can get away with sloppy play and still live. Vanguard wants to return to EQ type fights where it is quite easy to die if one group members makes a mistake. If people don't stay togther, or pulls are not made to safe spots to advoid patrols, otr peope, are just generally careless then uder eq1 release type gameplay the group would be in danger of dying. The point is the margin of error to wipe your group is much smaller than in most modern games. Will it play out that way I can't say. In regards to the death penalty. The penalty is a dynamic penalty where you get different death penalties depending on what kind of mob kills you. High risk mobs drop greater loot but have harder death penalties. Low risk mobs have lower death penalties such as no item drops and possuibly little to no exp loss. For a better read on how the detah penalty works check out Brads post here. http://www.vanguardsoh.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1278950&postcount=202 |

As the previous poster was saying, Vanguard will allow a narrower margin of error than games like WoW. In particular in group and raid you will need to be particularly focus on what you are doing. In WoW you could ipotetically make a group of 4 warriors and 1 healer with 2 people in semi-afk and still have chances to finish the dungeon succesfully. In Vanguard you need to make a more diverse group, with all the basic classes, and all the players needs to be concentrated in what they are doing, if 1 of them gets distracted, the group is fucked. And I can assure you that if you make a noob mistake, the others won't be pleased with you at all. |

Hey guys, thanks for the info!! Sadly, I don't think this game will be for me. Sounds a little bit too hardcore for my tastes. I guess I'll have to keep my hopes up for AoC or TCoS. |

You are welcome. We don't want people to be disappointed with Vanguard. I think Warhammer will be a very good game for you as well |
