The forums are run by Sigil staff and although its still in beta there is no rule about game banning for forum misuse just the wiser forum banning . SOE are you taking notes? Yes I am on their forum but I am not on the beta so I have not posted yet , Its going to get interesting when I apply for my SOE all access pass ( how generous!) |

I think I understand what he is saying and that frightens me. Some games have a policy that acting like a smacktard on the official game forums will get you banned not only from the forums but from the game itself. The OP seems to believe that Sigil won't have this policy, and a forum ban will not also be a game ban. Of course, this makes no sense to me because Sigil has said (they may have changed this after the SOE contract, but it used to be true) that they aren't even going to have official boards at launch (except technical), but will instead rely on "independent" fan sites. Besides that, the game is still in beta. EQ1, EQ2, SWG, GW, CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War, and a slew of free trials and beta tests |

You can blame Vanguard of many things, and I don't refrain from it when I see something wrong. But forum-wise, they are as good as a company can be. Forum-wise, the best forum handling I ever see from an official company is what Vanguard does. Of course, this is still FAR from MMORPG.com quality, but it is freaking good for an official forum. See, if I post on SoE/NCsoft official forums, I may be deleted, controlled, warned, somehow limited. FoH and other such trash-guilds will just plainly delete my access. Vanguard has always welcome me in their forum and even if I am welcome by rabid Vanbois who scream at me and want me dead, I am officially welcome and can express myself. Vanguard would receive a 85% rating from me, forum-wise. This is the best any MMO company ever got, by FAR. MMORPG.com would be the 100% rating to compare with. MMORPG.com is not perfect, but it would be pointless to have scores that aren't achieve by any forum, so as the best forum place, they got the "perfect" rating from which everyone else is compare. SoE official forums would get a 30%, FoH a 0% (can't go negative). I feel pretty safe and welcome on the Vanguard official forum, even if it is infested with Vanbois and that they troll a lot and flame any person questionning. But even if Brad is not wise enough to listen to me, he understand that accepting critic is the best way to progress, so they accept critic. Now I just have to figure a way to convince them, and saddly, I am not sure this is in my skill-pool...still, I am not someone to abandon, I keep trying...yet since I see that their staff come to this site, instead of going to the Vanguard forum every month, I come here from time to time, in this section, where I feel more welcome and at home, where I don't need to recall another password. Anyone who would manage to get themselves kick by Sigil (not SoE) would prolly be deserving it, unless they change since a few months...which I doubt. Brad is rigid, he doesn't change much and he strive to improve, even if he has issues to improve, striving to improve also help a lot to not degrade. I still hold some faith that he will see the greater truth eventually...at worst when BioWare kick ass and show them, but I would hope before. - "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. Back when Brad was in charge of EQ they never kicked people for forum posts either. What the hell do forums have to do with playing the game. |
