The forum members there are clearly  impressed with the latest screenshots of Vanguard. In fact, they're downright estatic in their excitement with the screenshots.

I thought the screenshots are weren't supposed to impress people but more and more as time goes by and as the public launch nears, it seems the opposite is happening with this game.

I can't wait until Jonaku posts something from Ut like it is fact.

I personally like the new screenshots.  My only sole complaint is the trees off in the background. they are just funny looking to me.  but i still think its pretty... but to me graphics are not what make a game....  So even if they were terrible .. I'd still play it if the gameplay was good.

as for Jonaku.. I like the screenshots (except for that one thing).

Those trees are the ones shown in this picture.  Obviously a lot better when you're closer and the level of detail isn't skewing the looks :)

Screenshots honestly don't mean a lot to me.  I'm more interested in the content, and how it plays.  If they can deliver on half the stuff that they are attempting to do, and make it compelling and interesting...this game will be incredible.  That's obviously what I'm hoping for...but a little less than convinced will happen.  Plenty of time though, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Well the good new is maybe not much longer to wait maybe? A few more months? I just got the new PC Gamer and there is a full page ad that says "coming soon".

We will know then for sure if its any good or not

Aradune mentions how some of the screenshots show dueling -- so a bit of PvP is now in for beta testing.

Need to let the local curmudgeon, "jonaku," take a shot at them because he's, well, errr, you know.

They've said at least one pvp server for launch...so i'd hope they start working on it soon.

Yeah, I perked up right away when I read that Brad said they were "dueling."

If I like the original ruleset, I'd like to do PvP at release.  Several types of PvP rulesets are supposed to become available as the game progresses.

Sounds good.

Yeah, the different rulesets for different servers does sound interesting.  They mentioned the possibilities of several different kinds...such as IronMan (perma-death) and no-raiding servers.  Not that any of these will make launch...but something to look forward to.

The overall look of the game reminds me of Dark age of camelot, really.... If you've played DAoC emagine that you are in hibernia or something with a blademaster... especially the green armor..

Not a bad thing tho.. love the updated daoc grafix
