I mean it looks AWESOME!!! I'm hoping I'll be able to play this game for years to come and not get too bored. This looks like the next gen. MMORPG we've all been waiting for. I am checking e-mail every day waiting on my invite. Check out the screenshot I posted (nobody commenting yet). To me this means that what the Devs said about Beta 3 being the most important one is true in that I note the beautiful textures in the game now and it seems to me they are really tweaking the crap outta that game to make it good. At least, that's what I think. Now, let's hope that aside from graphics (not worried about that at all), they will continue to hammer the gameplay and mechanics into final shape so that the game releases and is complex, solid and a heckuva lotta fun to play. Do your best in beta and give them all the feedback you think is important. ~~~ "I play, therefore I am."

I was one of those registered, not interested. But as long as the servers have enough people, even if there are only 5 or so, it hardly matters as long as you get groups whenever you want or need them. If you have any questions please ask. Go to the sign in screen at, https://mgsbeta.centercode.com You will first need your username. Your username should be your username from the boards followed by 4 numbers. For example, Vezstran9999. When I type in the first letter of my username on that screen a tooltip displys with my full username that I typed in last year when I applied for beta. If you are lucky enough that your tooltip works then you can use the lost password button to get your password. Then your all set. I hope that works or CS works for you. I can feel your agony. Hahah, your right, they are all time sinks. I hope Vanguard and Warhammer are fun games to play! It would stink for a bunch of these games to flop and be stuck with EQ2 and WoW and thats it to play. One of my friends got in beta and I went over to his house and watched him for a while. It's pretty dull and grey all over and the toons look all stiff and unrealistic. He said it's not really all that interesting. Of course some stuff isn't turned on yet and all that. It looked to me like a poor version of EQ2 with different names for the spells and stuff. Oh, and you leave a corpse with all your stuff when you die. Went to their forums and there's a big fight going on over raids or no raids and some other stuff. No one seems happy with the game. Everyone is complaining about something. And someone said it's been in dev for 4 or 5 years now. LOL Oh and Microsoft pulled out of it and now Sony picked it up but they already have EQ and EQ2 so you have to wonder. Saw where it's supposed to come out next year but no one's sure.

A lot of people in beta seem to expect a finished polished product. That is not the purpose of beta. Anyone who's followed the game knows about death penalties already. Char models do look similar to EQ2 char models currently, they both have that plastic look to them...drives me nuts but oh well, hopefully that changes when the different graphics enhancements get added in (specular lights/shadows etc.). There was a recent (semi reocurring) bout of confusion about raid rewards vs. non raid (not unlike this forum recently...) It happens every so often that certain particular questions get raised on the main boards because people new to the game keep joining and fail to use the "search" function or don't bother checking the official FAQ. /sigh Yes it's been in dev for about 4-5 years, its been getting beta tested for nearly 9 months with another 5-7ish months to go. (they really want to get things right when it launches) You apparently didn't read about the M$ deal at all. Microsoft didn't pull out, they pressured Sigil to release early, so Sigil bought their rights back from M$ and got a different publisher. Since a lot of people working at Sigil were ex SOE employees and Brad had worked with SOE before it was a logical choice for them to go with (despite the flames and wrath that followed). However, unlike the MS deal, Sigil retains ALL dev rights AND 50% publishing rights as well, which gives them total control over development. Which is in line with the company goals, to be 100% independant. The game is supposed to come out this winter that is the only release date officially given. Even in the latest video it is the only date given. Winter ends some time in March 2007. However the devs have also said repeatedly "it will release when its ready and if that means a delay so be it".
