Many mmo's are at a lower population as we are in a SWTOR phase. It may be a bit longer before mmo's and classics balance out with up coming games like GW2 and The Secret World due aprox. April or so. Vanguard may stay as low as it was in December unless they do a much needed content patch.

I use alternative methods of finding players and friends then everyone using traditional ways that do not work, so I don't rely on Guilds anyway.  However nothing will work if the population is too low.

I'll be sitting in a hotel in Puerco Rico with a bad internet connection for at least another week before I could play anything. When I get back to the states it will be either Vanguard or give SWTOR a shot, I played the bata only and would not classify SWTOR as an mmo.

To make a long story short I would look at game population instead of a Guild. But you have to know how to find the population.

Well some games will die in 2012 simple as that.

Market is very saturated , I would even say oversaturated and many big titles are incoming.  Not to mention all smaller pumping all the time.

There is TSW, TERA , GW2 all incoming for sure in 2012, then in 2013 there is propably / possibly ArcheAge, Planetside 2, Firefly maybe, and bunch of others that are in advanced works like EQNext or Copernicus to name a few. Not to mention crowd of cheap f2p productions and imports from Asia.

So imho weaker titles will shut down. Warhammer Online is sure candidate imo, Vanguard is next in line ,well unless it goes f2p ,but even then it will be just prolonging it's life (for sure crowds on f2p transition but let's face it game is old, and in a year after there will be talks about it dying again).

Even more titles will go 'maintenance mode' like Vanguard was for a long time.   No updates , no patches, just servers kept operational or 'low-budget mode' with updates but of low quality  (see RoI in Lotro).

The guild is called Twighlyte Song, not "Twilight Song". It has nothing to do with that infamous sparkling vampire crap.

That game is called FIREFALL, not "Firefly". Firefly is a cult Joss Whedon TV show that sadly only got one season and one cinema movie.

There might be many new games, but sadly there is no replacement for Vanguard in sight, not even at the most distant horizont. Thus I will keep playing Vanguard for the foreseeable future.

TS is still doing fine.  The number of actives has dipped but from what I see it is still usually 10+ online anytime I log into the game.  We run joint raids Tues nights.

Great thanks. I resubbed last night and logged in for a bit was pretty quiet but I would imagine it should pick up soon when people start to tire of TOR+skyrim.

thanks !
