If we could keep this updated for a couple weeks or so, I'd be interested in pop count on EU primetime (lets say CET) myself. |

Don't expect great artwork from a coder. It just doesn't happen. |

You are just going to have to accept that this is it. |

I am waiting for it to die, get sold off from SOE to someone else and then I will play the re-launch from some other company. SOE was already on my ban list before their security fiasal in the Spring.

Originally posted by Frotus I guess that won't happen and you will never get a chance to play it. SOE has IP rights for it and if it can make enough to keep itself in green in last 1.5 years..then now things are anyway looking upow n..wait for some time and u will hear a big content update soon.. |

I played it at launch for a month or so. Good game, but Sony ruines games as we all have seen. They have since been put on my ban list. Sucks, cause I get to miss Planetside 2, but oh well. I stand for my rights and don't let crack dealers push me around. |

I played at release and i wouldn't say that SOE ruined the game. Sigil ruined the game by mismanaging their release. The game was buggy and clunky and only worked on the highest end machines. Also, game felt wierd because of the chunks of zones... it is hard to describe, but it was like playing in mirrors. As you passed one zone chunk into another, the game would lock up as the graphics card attempted to load the new zone. it was poorly optimzed.
That being said, SOE made some much needed optimizations to make the game playable. They also simplified many aspecs of the game and ruined its uniqueness.
VSOG had a lot going for it in terms of gameplay. Each class had a unique role in groups. Raids were open environment and you actually felt your class distiction from other classes. when you made a group for dungeons you really needed class balance to kill the elite bosses. had a lot of fun, but at the end of the day, the poorly optimzed game produced by sigil at release was the cause of the games decline, not SOE.
This game will never have a substantial population. |

out of every p2p MMO out there this one would benifit from a f2p model more than any other!! If someone is talking in general chat in a language you dont understand, chances are they're not talking to you. So chill out and stop bitching about it! |

I don't understand when u guys r so negative about the game, why u bother to write n see t forums even.. on 24 hr basis VG on an average has 225-230 to 425-450 players online all the time depending upon time and day (I am not counting halgar which also has 25-30 players mostly )..and this is only for Telon...if u extrapolate it (i hope u know wat i mean..it will easily give 3000 suns for the game.. assuming tht few of them are station pass holders..game easily genertes 40-50k for SOE per month... |

The game itself was amasing, though I agree the launch was bad, not WoW bad but bad non the less, then again.. Microsoft is a horid start for any mmo. The game indeed was released too early, SOE should have put their footdown instead of letting their investors force a release. Granted the game wasnt running all that bad on a top of the line computer. Sigil couldnt get the game.. fixed and when SOE brought in their own team(which was a smart thing) bugs where getting fixed at an alarming rate. Unfortunatly the damage was already done, people where already returning to their previous games, not returning to VG. Despite the fixes and added content the game kept on bleeding players. So yes no matter how much I regret it, it is understandeble that they kinna.. stopped investing in it
I truely do regret the game is dieing a slow death, but in too many ways I am gratefull for endles hours of joy the game has offered me. So yes, and Im sure Ill be the only one, I am gratefull that SOE took over the debris from Microsoft. I highly doubt that any other company could.. or more important would have tried to safe fix the game. So personally, I rather think back to hours of fun and good memories, its the least the game deserves. |
