Copy pasted here for easy access: While Grant wasn't able to go into detail, he did say that there have been high-level meetings regarding future updates for Vanguard. They are definitely planning to do two updates within the fiscal year for Vanguard, although there is no exact timetable on when those updates will launch. He said that he will more than likely be overseeing whatever will be implemented, and they will also bring in other developers who had previously worked on the game. |

But it can continue to be a viable product for those who are interested. |

That is good news indeed. She deserved a better fate than what she was getting. Also it would tend to look like the population may be healthy enough to warrant the work. WIll look forward to if this is actually true or just a can being kicked around. |

if they are going to do content on regular basis..i,e a couple of times a year, thats good enough for me.mainly cos the content will take a while to get thru.so all station pass for me is on again. |

This is actually great news, and dont listen for a sec to the doom sayers. People have been speculating that vanguard will go the way of SWG (closing), but as of now, we can see that this is not so. It will not close in the forseeable future. And alot of players actually want to get back into the game, but they cant get their hearts into it because SOE has neglected this game. Now they do have a real opertunity to get back into one of their all time favorite games :) |

I'm very excited for this game. Just recently came back to vanguard (last played at launch) and its a great game except for the population. Maybe this will bring people back and make the game what it should have been. |

i dont think you can blame anyone for doom andd gloom where VG is concerned..especially with nothing ,not even a patch in a year.most peeps would expect the worst would'nt they..i did. |

That is good news for VG players, it is just sad that it took killing off SWG to free up a couple of devs.
Sadly the comment about new or revamped content points toward them leaving the old buggy content and adding new buggy content since they know the current subscribers are extremely tolerant when it comes to unpolished content. www.agonysend.org |

Having rediscovered the game myself, I'm a little worried about SOE turning their gaze this way. We all know what can happen to a game when SOE starts tinking. It's a good game, but it does suffer from a low population. Maybe with the Station Access price drop and SWG closing down this could be good for Vangaurd. So far the starter island seems to have a decent amount of people on it, but you do see fewer people outside of there right now. It would be nice if it picks up, because this game has a older MMO feel to it. Everything isn't on vanilla easy mode like WOW. I doubt SOE will shut it down as long as they can profit from it. Unlike SWG, they own the IP. |

This is great news and a really smart choice on the part of the publisher. While development updates are not always good for games, in my opinion, it could have gone the other way, and I'm happy I may actually get to try the game one day. |

Originally posted by Murashu Well, it's a choice. Of couse we want all the buggy content fixed. And they have fixed quite a bit since the game's launch. However, for many players, the lack of new content, even though there is quite a lot of content in VG, is a deal breaker. Adding new content is good for the current players and old players and good for new players as it shows the game is not going to close down "soon". Of course, they still might fix old content and bugs. But at least the game's life has been extended. |

Vanguard is like a cool old car that's been setting forgotten in some grandma's garage waiting to be discovered, dusted off and driven again. You always see it listed on sites as a game that deserves a second life. I played it a bit when it came out. I'll play it again if they dust it off. |
