"The Aurora Templars were a concept I originally came up with back in the days of the Dark Age of Camelot, but never quite felt happy with the games possibilities for this type of guild. Vanguard, Saga of Heroes has given me new hope that the Aurora Templars may actually become reality.

The Concept behind them is that of a simple Order of Crusader Knights, similar to those that were around during the Dark Ages, when the Roman Empire was on the verge of collapse. The country of Thestra, holds this type of role playing possible, with its Middle Ages type of role playing, the Order would call Thestra their home and here it would be where the Knights would be trained and built up.

As many know the Crusader Knights of the Dark Ages frequently sent themselves to Jerusalem (The Holy Land) where great wars were fought against the Saracens. Another bonus of Vanguard is that the Country of Qalia fits the description of the Holy Land pretty well. It’s based on Arabian Nights, so the Templars would use Qalia as their Holy Land to wage their own affairs on. Although, there is nothing in the Lore to indicate this, the Templars have their own History which will link the Order with need to go to Qalia.

The idea is to create a realistic role playing atmosphere that will bring the life of a crusader knight to the role playing world of Telon. I have spent years studying the Dark Ages of Middle England and Europe and the Crusades in Jerusalem and I believe that with that experience I will be able to create a realistic role playing recreation of that type of life, one that would be enjoyable for other role players to participate in, but also meaningful. Even if you’re not a member of the Order, I think it would be fun simply just to interact with it. There are many avenues for great role playing. " - Gaewyn, Guild Master
