I left not too long after SOE took over and server mergers happened.

Now I hear they are doing server transfers.  I thought after all the mergers their were only 3 or so servers and a pvp server.  Have new servers been added, or are they just offering to shuffle ppl around on the 3 servers?

Did flying mounts ever make it into game?  And if they are, do you still fall to death often when chunking? Can you get each of the 3 flying mounts, or have to pick one?

Is Warrior class still putting out less dps and aggro when tanking than the other 2 tanks that not only solo, dps and aggro better than warriors, but they also get a mana bar to buff rez and other chit.

Is it still the case that then questlines are such that you can start them solo, then as you get close to the end of quest to get the desired item, you need a group.  Yet if  you don't have a perma - group, chances are slim to none that someone is going to help you with your quest b/c "what's in it for me?"  So many times, I would backtrack the earlier stages of a quest with someone to get them 'caught up' then someone would have to log b/c it took hours to catch em up, and now no time ......

Is the economy still so inflated due to hackers duping anything and everything?

Is the max lvl still 50?

I know i'm pissing and moaning, but their were alot of reasons i left VG.  And i'm curious if things have gotten better, and if so, have they gotten better to the point that ppl are returning or starting new to the degree that the server populations are healthy or even busting at the seems and new servers are being launched?

I had a great time in VG at first, even dispite the bugs.  But when my perma-group mates starting leaving game, it became painfully apparent to me that as a warrior class that can't solo well, that the game is geared toward perma-groups.  And once my perma-group left, i was perma SOL.  I started a bard alt, but server pop was so low at this point, that low 20s groups were near none existant, and i'm not much for solo'ing for very long.

The last week that i played, I would log on, put /lfg on, /ooc every 20ish min and would pass time farming ore and killing 2 dot mobs for xp in the area.  4 hours later i would log with maybe one UR, but usually not, and not one /tell for group :~(

It's a shuffle. 4 servers actually but it is only 3 eligable targets.

There are mounts. There are rental 5 minutes mounts. There are a quest mounts which is prehibited to one specific area but it is permament. And you have a permament mount that you can start the questline at 45ish and finsih at 50. It involves quite some work to get though.

Have never fallen to death from a flying mount. I got one permament on the test server since, don't really remember, sometime last summer. And if you are dismounting in a nonordinary fashion you have a parachute included with the mount (so to speak). But I have only got dismounted in air when the 5 minute timer have run out in the rental one.

Probably is so now aswell. I mean that is not something strange not even in a better populated game. So if it was a really big issue for you back then it still can be today. I haven't really got a problem of that for myself though, I go do something else until an oppertunity shows up. I can guess the new LFG tool is helping somewhat at least.

Is the economy still so inflated due to hackers duping anything and everything?

Don't think it is.

Is the max lvl still 50?

Hmm, ya.

There have been one hint on the forum that it would not be impossible. But there are people around. Still less people than it was march last year, but more people compared to last summar and fall, in my perception.

Look for a nice guild.

You don't have to be in the same area in the same way as earlier. With rifts and flying mounts it is perfectly alright to be as far away as possible from the actual spot you want to group in. In that way you can do other things while waiting.

Thanks much for taking the time to reply to my post.

The permanent mount is a flying mount correct.  (i'm 99% sure that's what you meant, but just wanted to make certain your not talking about the unicorn/warhound mount.  iirc, that started around 30 and ended around 40)

If I were to return, First thing i would do is begin the quest for griffon prolly, how many days / weeks would that take assuming i could find groups np and work on it 3-4 hours a night?

Also, a question i forgot in the OP, does the "you cannot see TARGET" while the mob your fighting is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, the mob that is STILL beating on you .... has that gotten better?

That was quite frustrating when as a war class soloing, I would have just the smallest margin of error when fighting a mob, and die when the mob was at 3%, because i was fighting mob on a hill or some other incline, and would have to move around in order to  "SEE" the mob so i could hit it more, all the while, the mob has no problem seeing and hitting me :~(

Yeah, I was talking only about flying mounts. Discovered that I said mounts in some sentences, but I as to lazy to edit. I've seen 2 weeks time if you are doing it focused and for others it have taken ocer 2 months. There are two types of flyings mounts to get as permament at lvl50 one is slower and easier to get and the other one faster and so harder to get. But this is relative I guess, the slower one would for me be hard to get.

So can't really tell if 3-4h per night is alot or little work to get the mount.

About not seing targets, it occurs in some situations, but not often IMO. If they do it is solved for me by moving back or forth to the target.

Be warned that the permanent flying mount quest is extremely difficult.  Many casual players have pretty much given up on the quest.  It took one my guildy a month just to get through the OT part, which is only the 3rd step of the quest, and the next part, Chath has saw oh, well over 20 wipes with no closer to wining.  If you are easily frustrated, don't even start on it.

Haha...My group got to the part where you kill a big boss in Old Targonor...he was dealing 18k damage ( ! hit killer ) on our tank who isnt raid geared...Although it is possible to complete the quest, after you've finished I dont think you would ever wanna do it again for your alt toons (unless you're really interested)

Yes, now please welcome Vlad Vlad.

They have added flying mount quests that are pretty challenging to complete. You can get either a Wyvern or Griffon from the quest I believe.

The warrior class is on par with the other 2 tanks.

I don't really have this problem with finding groups since I usually run a static group with my guildie buddies but whenever they are not online I just throw up a LFM in general chat and I usually get a group pretty easily. and if I dont I just go solo some quests till I can get a group. Grouping is pretty easy when you get to level 15 but before that its hard to find people to party with.

I just started the game not too long ago and I absolutley love it! I am a 21 Vulmane Dread Knight and if you decide to come back you should look me up. I am on Seradon, my name is Rolovin!

hope you decide to get this game! It's probably one of the most underrated MMOs on the market now.

They are just shuffling but the strange thing I thought was the transfers are one way OUT of the PvP server. I haven't heard to many really moving around on the PvE servers

Yes they are in, I don't hear of anyone complaining about dying because of chunking anymore like at launch.

Dunno

Dunno what you are refering to with the term "perma group" depending on your server, groups are not really an issue. I play on the Euro server and all is well.

Is the economy still so inflated due to hackers duping anything and everything?

The general population of the game is around level cap (50) so you can expect to have an inflated economy anyway, so are the hazards of a level based game. I don't know of any hacks or dups but I'm not the sort of player who looks for it.

Is the max lvl still 50?

Yes

I know i'm pissing and moaning, but their were alot of reasons i left VG.  And i'm curious if things have gotten better, and if so, have they gotten better to the point that ppl are returning or starting new to the degree that the server populations are healthy or even busting at the seems and new servers are being launched?

Well I know about the Euro server and the PvP server. The euro server "feels" like an average MMO to me. There are enough people around and enough crafters to keep things rolling / healthy. The PvP server...seemed sort of dead although I play off-peak as I am in Europe. The free transfers OFF of the PvP server sort of sends the message that something is up with it.

Still not sure where you are going with this "perma group" thing. Join another guild if its an issue like you would in any other MMO. There is no mechanic in VG that makes groups perminate. I would avoid the PvP server, I don't trust what SOE is up to there. They seem to be wanting to clean it out.

The last week that i played, I would log on, put /lfg on, /ooc every 20ish min and would pass time farming ore and killing 2 dot mobs for xp in the area.  4 hours later i would log with maybe one UR, but usually not, and not one /tell for group :~(

Huh? Again, not sure where you are going with this. In your 20's there are several areas you could go to with lots of quest lines to do. I haven't had to farm XP yet in VG. I have been able to do task / quest the whole way (30ish) In your 20's you could work the Hunters League quest, Hillberry manor or something. I passed up more content then I could do so far in this game and never really had an issue getting a small group together for something. I imagine it would help if you joined a active guild but thats MMORPG 101 advice. There is a guild search feature.

The situation isn't exactly helped by the fact that there is no free trial so lower level players (under 30) are getting to be rare.

bahhumbug

Peace,

Aces
