IRTH ONLINE PRE-LAUNCH SPECIAL OFFER ANNOUNCED

DEDHAM, MAOCTOBER 14, 2005 – Magic Hat Software, creators of MMORPG Irth Online which launches on November 1, 2005, has announced a Pre-Launch Special Offer effective October 15 through October 31, 2005.

The Pre-Launch Special Offer allows gamers to purchase Irth Online for $19.95, a 33% discount off the at-launch price of $29.95. The pre-order subscription fee will be $9.95 per month for the first six months, representing a 30% savings over the at-launch fee of $13.95 per month. Pre-Launch Special Offer orders may be placed online only at www.irthonline.com which explains the ordering procedure and payment options.

“Gamers who pre-order save $10 on the purchase price and $4 on the monthly subscription fee,” says Alan Chipura, Lead Game Designer.

If those who pre-order Irth Online choose the option of paying in advance for three months of subscription fees, they will receive an additional, fourth month for free. This offer will not be available after Irth Online is launched.

Magic Hat Software will offer both digital distribution and physical distribution options. Gamers with a high speed Internet connection may purchase an Irth Online access key to play the game online, and gamers using a dial-up connection may purchase the game either on CD-ROM (two disc set) or on a DVD (disc versions will not be sold at retail stores and may be purchased only on the Irth Online official game site). Each of the three purchase options – online, CD-ROM, or DVD – is priced at $19.95 as part of the Pre-Launch Special Offer. After the game is launched, the same three purchase options will be available at $29.95 each.

Pre-orders must be placed online after 12:01 AM (EDT) on Saturday, October 15, and before 11:59 PM (EST) on October 31, 2005, the day before the launch. The Pre-Launch Special Offer allows customers to access the full game at 3:00 PM (EDT) on Sunday, October 30, 2005, two days before the official launch.

Once Irth Online is released on November 1, 2005, all pre-launch offers cease, and the title will be available only at the $29.95 price, and the monthly subscription fee will be $13.95.

Still too much to get me to play this!

I know you guys will deny it... but remember when you said you would listen to the fans and release when your public wants you to release?

Well your public doesn't want you to release!!! The game still needs a YEAR or TWO worth of work!! Honestly! It does! Trust us!

At first I was not going to get Irth Online after seeing the beta, but I realized that a beta is just a game thats in testing.  So I am going to take the plunge and pre order it.  If it stinks oh well, its not like this would be the first time that I have wasted my money on a game before.  But then again I may be pleasantly surprised.  For only 19.99 it is worth a shot to me.  Alot of the features of the game appeal to me.

I'm gonna go for it too. I love the spirit of the game and I most definitely miss PvP. I got to know a few of the devs during testing and they are commited to listening to the players, which is something I'm not used to.

Besides, if 20 bucks is a big deal to you, you just need to get a better job, or A job.

Wow, someone has disposable income.   A kick to the head for $20 compared to being charged $30 may be cheaper ...but it is still a kick in the head.

It's 20 bucks! Disposable income? If your income isn't 20 dollars disposable then you don't HAVE an income. Tightwad lol and it's a game, I know damn well I'll get 20 bucks of fun out of it if I can kill one person like you.

Is Irth playable on any computer? I tried it again and the engine is so poor with its low frame rate, and stuttering. It reminds me of Horizons.

Anarchy are you daft?

All you people who pre-order games you already KNOW aren't finished are doing is showing the game companies that they can get away with producting unfinished garbage then making the players PAY to play an unfinished game.

YOU ARE PERPETUATING THE PROBLEM!

They are committed to listening to the players?  The players have been begging them to not release it until it is ready.  The devs are only listening to the dollar signs.

And 20 bucks is not a big deal for most people.  But most people wouldn't use that 20 bucks to buy a book that's half written, or a restaurant meal that's half cooked.  So why would they use that 20 bucks to buy a game that's half finished?

It's pretty sad when you have to beg people and belittle them that $20 isn't a lot a money.

Kind of like the state Irth is in. Sad.

Don't know if any of you remember but UO and EQ both had horrible problems at launch.  I seriously doubt that Irth will have those kind of problems.  It might have some issues but I am willing to look past those.  As long as the game keeps making progress I am willing to give it a shot.  Like I said it has alot of the features that I am looking for and quite frankly none of the other games right now are really holding me fast to them.  If Irth does not work out then I guess I will just hold out till Vanguard and The Lord of the Rings Online come out.  Those two are the mmorpgs that have me the most excited.  Dungeons and Dragons Online also really interests me and even Tabula Rasa(mainly because of Richard Garriott).
