Irth Worlds News - Beta Phase Two Begins

Magic Hat Software has passed along word that the one-month long Beta Phase Two starts today for Irth Online.

-- BETA TESTERS WELCOMED -- “We received over 400 suggestions from many thousands of Beta testers in the past three weeks since the start of our first Beta,” says Alan Chipura, Lead Game Designer. “Our tester community’s contributions were outstanding, and we’ve already incorporated many of them into Irth Online, as well as added lots of new content.” During the first two weeks of the first Beta, the Irth Online team added new animations, male and female characters, and spells. Improvements were made to ground textures and action activity including the ability to actually cut down lumberjacking trees. Several new armors were incorporated such as Chains, Plates, and Scales made from Black Rock, Lava Rock, Copper, Gold, and Irthonium. During the final week of the first Beta, the Irth team added over 30 new professions including Alchemist, Banker, Glassblower, Fur Trader, Healer, Jeweler, and Enchanter, and added more monster spawns, more spells, and new crafting skills. Also added were improved icons for such things as herbs, pike weapons, war fork, and many others. Over 20 new Trainer Weaponry items include Shields (Heater, Bronze, Great Flare Kite, Iron Round, and more) as well as Axes and Broad Axes. “We have made literally hundreds of content additions, enhancements, and modifications, so the items we’ve mentioned so far are only a small indication of our efforts,” says Chipura. Beta testers are welcomed to apply at www.irthonline.com, the official Irth Online site, where visitors can keep up to date on the latest developments and other game news. Er? So the release date will be a few days after August 12th now? No wait, I heard this autumn, no ...it was going to be july ...but didnt they say last winter they were on schedule to release it this past may? I am utterly confused.

delays in schedules are nothing new in beta world, but rather well expected by all logically thinking people.
As the announcement states, Devs have made major changes to the game in recent patches, are they good or bad changes, i let you deside.

oh, and DnL has been delayed twice as well...also MANY other games have had delays...I dunno whats the big deal

I love how mmorpg.com puts a date up and then when its not met people think the game is being delayed. People who are active in the community have been telling you since beta started that the game is months not weeks away from release. Phase 2 just means they are adding more content to the test. So far seeing the game go from alpha to its current state has been amazing to watch. Irth will definately be something special when its released next year.
I can tell ya that kishe isnt a dev but kishe is very active with the game as am i. I remember a month or so back i made a post about children beta testing and everyone tried to make out like i was some dev working for a game. If i was a dev working on a game this is the last place you'd find me LOL. I imagine the same could be said for Kishe.
The new release date thats posted here on mmorpg.com is way off again. I swear they just make this shit up as they go along.
I don't understand why some people get upset about delaying a game. Every game i betatested was delayed so I find it strange that a game doesn't get delayed, not every game is like WoW (but they worked on that one for quite some years if i am not mistaken.
irth online sounds promissing maybe gonna try it out, it doesn't have to have nice graphics but it has to be playable and there is/was a lot of lag ,I heard anyway.

The new release date posted on this site is way off again??? Good lord, man ...are you selling that verbal diahrea once again? You are a funny guy but please, at least get new material. It was already established that MMORPG did not make up the July 10th date as you refer to. It was agreed, even by your buddy in arms Kishe, that it was not made up. It was based on either a press release or an interview given by the devs around E3. Several other websites listed a July release.
Ok, King of Comedy ...what do you think will be the release date? Just how many months away is it if mid August is, to you, another fraudulant attempt by MMORPG. But please ..please tell us in that comical style you have and we oh so adore.

One would have to think that since you are not devs. I was under the impression that you beta testers couldn't say that you were testers at all ...let alone talk about it as much and in the detail that you do.

Well sirboris i can see by your number of posts that you lack any serious material so i'm glad you're amused by mine. Yes MMORPG.com makes up its release dates. This has long been established. I don't know what site you visit but this site has never once been accurate. Irth online will not be released within 90 days. It just got out of alpha 6 weeks or so ago. C'mon use that squishy thing incased in your skull and think a bit. Theres going to be at least 6 months of beta testing. Show me any place on the Irth site that gives a release date. Kishe isnt a dev he doesnt know anymore than you or i do about a release date. Was there a press release or an interview? Who knows i dont read every press release i simply go by their site and the game. If they said anything about july i'd imagine they were referencing open testing because no company would suggest they were going to release a game live after 2 weeks of beta lol.

and yes, this beta phase is supposed to end in august...lord only knows if we'll end up in phase3 or release...

I guess that makes us two happy people, eh? There are a number of sites that listed the July release ...and I would be happy to post them again for you. I could direct you to the threads where I have already posted them but I think its better for you to just conserve your energy for your rapier wit. Then again, don't bother looking at other sources ...keep pushing the conspiracy theory routine. It is much funnier.
Then no game in 90 days? And the game needs another 6 months of beta testing? I am not disputing what the game needs ...afterall this game is from the same devs who brought us that emulator. That community still remembers them ...vividly.

I dont know what your argument is but its getting old. If you want to believe these mmo websites over the actual game developers then have at it i could care less what you believe. As i've stated many times this game is many months away from being released. Enjoy your ranting i'm moving on to productive threads. For a 40 year old you certainly act like a 12 year old.

The NDA was dropped with phase 2 apparently? If it wasnt then no people are not allowed to say that they're in beta even if it can be found publicly and duh it should be public knowledge since ANYONE that signs up gets in beta LOL. I swear you're brainless boris.. get a new handle - Brainlessboris.

I know I'll regret getting in the middle of this... but it has to be said...
MMoRPG.com and all of the other news sites I know of...warcry, stratics, etc get their release dates all from the same place, the developers.
How do I know this? A good friend of mine writes for stratics. That is why when a release date comes out... it is picked upped by ALL the sites... if each site grabbed dates out of the air, wouldnt all of the sites have different dates for all of the games?? But they dont.. they all have the same date, so logic dictates they they all have to get the date from somewhere...
All of the news sites get the dates from the developers.

Delays are nothing new, espcaily for these devs. Keep in mind they were the devs of Sphereserver, UO emulation. 1.0 was slated for release Feb. 2003, last I checked they were still on RC17.

But under no circumstances should you feel free to say anything negative about his game. The Irth NDA police will jump on you as soon as you say anything negative about the high and mighty Irth. So please do not feel free to give your honest opinion about how bad the game is. According to the Irth NDA police, you have an irrevocable obligation to Irth and to all of gamer humanity to only say nice things about irth. Otherwise, you have betrayed all of MMO fandom by your negativity.
And besides, that Irth NDA police-guy extraordnaire, Copeland, says that everyone who does not conform to the Irth positivity law, are just bratty kids who don't know that Irth Betas should not be criticized for being bad. And you are all just ignorant kids who don't understand that the Irth graphics are horrible only because Irth is using "less cumbersome" graphics.

youre free to tell people you didn't like it...Most of the, from my part, unwelcome posts has been "This sux because there's bugs!" that makes me think "Well duh! Betas with bugs! Oh noes!" or some just say "THIS SUX!" it gives ZERO constructive point...
Actually as with any game that has an NDA still in effect, we prefer to keep feedback internal. Thats not just us, thats the same with just about any Beta you'd play. Before I became a developer and I was very new to testing games I made the mistake once of posting something that I wasnt supposed to with a negative connotation on the hype meter for another game, and I was immediately jumped on by 2 fellow testers, as well as the Community Manager for the game I was testing. This is the general reaction you get whenever you post something against the NDA, and it should be an expected reaction to anyone who has tested a game that is still under an NDA and knows how it works. This game has large plans and I hope they succeed. It appears this game is intended for people like myself that are not happy with most of the games that are out now. I do not want a game that is good eye candy. I need a game where only a few people do tasks that I can do and it takes more than a few minutes to get an uber item. Don't you just hate it when everybody looks like everybody else and you end up doing the same tasks over and over? I know I hate it and I am ready for a change.
I have played in many betas starting with AC1 and in almost every game the graphics starts poor and the FPS are low. I would not expect anything else from a beta. If you are getting low FPS then ask inside the game or beta forum board for some advice. BrawlKing has a large thread that gives information on what cards can and can not be used. The problem could be as simple as making a small adjustment in the game.
