Well, I can't say much without breaking the nda, but by the pictures shown here, you can see that there is a lot of work to be done before release. And I see that the release date is beginning of July?? I don't know if there are enough hours in the days to get it up to snuff by then. If you look at the picture with the npc names, you can see one, standing there in his underwear.

I think its fun when u "strafe" in game and you just slide around on the floor like Gumby though!

I dont usually feed the trolls but strafing will be fixed in next patch

Are these folks still planning on shipping the game in July? I dunno ...you think they would show better screenshots just prior to the release. It isn't even that the graphics look rather amateurish but they look as if they were just slapped together.

Graphics have rised up many steps after those screenies were taken.

and no, official release date according to devs are "When it's ready" and they have said it seems likely it wont be ready in july...

This game will maybe never have EQ2 level graphics (theres limits on what you can do with 15 people) but right now the graphics are getting very much mid-level.

Feature wise this game will be pure gold to all UO and Wish fans and that's main target for whom this game is aimed for...and like me, many hardcore UO'ers have been without home for long time jumping from grind to another.

Well, after seeing those screen shots, I don't think they have much of a chance to compete in this market.  They might have been able to use those graphics back in the mid 1990's, but not now.

Sure, those links showing new screenshots are not a vast improvements over what has been described as being "20 patches ago" ...I will give you that. It is possible that they are waiting until their open beta is over (which I think is tomorrow) to clean up the galleries.

I was not asking about features ...I was asking about screenshots. And I am confident that would not interfere with the NDA. But since you brought up the NDA card ...how about posting it on here? Or just sum up what you can say or cannot say? And you state that the game (already) beats 70% of the competition ...would this be 70% of the independent or the corporate competition, as you have clearly designated in another thread.

Ok, fine the game is still in early beta. The devs are working hard to address all the bugs and tweak the game to perfection. Fabulous. Why not support the argument that things are really improving regarding the graphics?

I personally don't see what is so special about the graphics of this game. They look fairly generic in comparison to other 3D games out there.

Yes, graphics are not the be all end all of a game. I think the issue is that they are avoiding a simple request to show what an in-game shot looks like. It isn't like the community wants someone to break the NDA. We all keep hearing about how improvements have been made across the board, especially the graphics. Since sharing a few current screenshots would not violate the NDA ...why not have one of the beta testers simply take one, since the devs seem unwilling or indifferent. If anything, do it to shut me up.

Well then I guess I should back off from pressuring beta testers to cough up some screenshots, if it indeed is in violation of the NDA. Still I am utterly amazed that the devs have not even sent out a few screenshots just to satisfy the community, or ...shut us naysayers up about the graphics. Yes, I know you have climbed the mountain and proclaimed upon high that MMORPG made that date up, that the game is still in early beta ...even to go as far as saying that the devs "told you" that the game now will be ready when it is ready. However, it just doesn't make sense. If this site did indeed fabricate the release date why havent the devs contacted them? They must obviously know about this error. How long has it been posted? Four weeks, six weeks, longer? Other websites clearly listed a July or a near July release shortly after E3. Some are direct interviews with the chief devs! So my theory is that July (early, mid or late for that matter) was likely more from a press release or an interview with ...um I dunno, the devs?

Sure dates get pushed around all the time in this industry. One website lists the game was on schedule to be released in May of this year. Why you or the devs couldn't simply state that they needed to extend the release date escapes me ...why pin the blame falsely on MMORPG?

You say you are not a dev but you present yourself as someone very well informed, more than any beta (volunteer) tester I have ever heard of. Thinking of you as a dev posing as a fanboy makes a lot of sense based on your behavior and how you bring down a hailstorm to those who give even the slightest negative observation to your game. And it is indeed your game, your baby. You certainly have demonstrated your vested interest quite often.

I hang out at Irth's irc channel and speak to devs daily like most of irth testers...they're honest and answers you when you ask them. Most other long time testers boycots mmorpg.com but I'm the official masochist.

It's pretty much written in stone there will be delays, how long...well, we have been told to wait for official announcement to know that...i was wrong about them making the date up...that date was true untill after E3 there has been LOT of delays.

and preprare! I'm going to say something negative about the game!

These devs are good and knows what they're doing but they really really REALLY could use new marketing people...they really have none atm...
