TSOTNWGEOL writes: As At Least, I Have A Deemed View That Dark Space OnLine Came Before EVE OnLine Sprouted. I Would Try To Say That The Rip-Off Judgement About This Game Is Wrong. Based On The Graphics, Screen Shots, And In-Game Wallpapers, Dark Space OnLine Is Like EVE OnLine For Low-Medium End Computers, While EVE OnLine Excels To Top. jackocomp writes: Having played this game now for 2 months I would NOT recommend that anyone subscribe to this game, there are many reasons for this the main ones are a great lack of support from the developer, huge amounts of lag, very small (active) player base (avg. 20 - 25). The graphics are ok but not great and there are so many bugs in the game that it isn't funny. New users are treated to a welcome of a link to a manual and then have to rely on other players to explain things as the mods/admin people just do not seem to be interested unless you are one of their friends and in those cases you can just about do whatever you want without having to worry about being banned etc. If you want to do anything logon create an account and ake use of the 14 day free trial, the cost of the game if you are not in the USA is a considerable amount more than $9.95 a month and it goes ven higher if you dont have a credit card ($49 australian for 3 months is what it cost me). There are a lot of friendly players on this game but there are also many that will go out of their way to try to make your gaming experience as unpleasant as possible. There are also players who will give you a hard time if you dont do what they want you to do, noobs are reminded of the fact they re noobs all the time by certain members of the player base and continual whinging about things is something you will have to learn to put up with. Other than all of those there are other things but I think that people need to take notice to what I hve said here and just be aware of these things if/when you decide to give the game a go. It is a game that has huge potential if the developer puts more effort behind the game and they move away from the teen control of the game, I can only wish and hope that the game is taken up by one of the big developers like EA where it will be given the resources and support that it requires, which will then make it a GREAT game maybe even better than the EVE's of the gaming world. 404k writes: Not as newbie friendly as other games, but the community has proven quite helpful in pointing new players in the right direction. Plays like a strategic level game of Starfleet Command. The combat system is superb and the graphics are pretty good. All in all, the best space simulation MMO i've played. Thu Sep 28 2006 12:59PM
NasherUK writes: Great game for it's age, not really a MMO or an RPG, more of a large RTS. This game is not for everyone, but people who liked games like homeworld will love it. The community is friendly, no annoying kiddies like some online games (sci-fi games always seem to attact an older crowd). Only thing this game lacks is a large player base, it seems to be slowly getting better (even though it's taking years :P ) Sun Sep 17 2006 9:46AM

SothaSiltro writes: Good game; many types of ships to fit your style in battle, and great graphics. The beta (once it patches into the game) will add many new ships, and other things. DS is a great game (= Sat Aug 26 2006 6:16PM
