The trailer is soooo misleading. The game design is not even that way. Trailers are cool and all but they need to post actual game play footage.

Take the UI away, use fancy camera work and warp in as fleet plus focus fire a ship. Whats so misleading? let me guess you only played the trial solo? take it from a guy that has fought in 500+ fleet battles thats similar to how it looks minus the UI and swinging camera for cinematic effect.

It is misleading in that it is not nearly that fast paced and exciting, except maybe for 5% of the time you're doing a fleet battle... I wish it was that exciting and dynamic all the time. Take away the dynamic music, the several UI embellishments, the cinematography, and you have the actual gameplay. Don't get me wrong, EVE is an awesome game, and it can be quite an exciting experience, but don't get fooled into thinking this video represents the norm for gameplay...

No game can supply that kind of action 100% of the time and still be "compelling". EVE is compelling, it builds the drama and then when one of those "action packed" moments occurs... it means something to the people involved. Its more epic that way.

i know people are like "omgwtf wowowow!!!11"... just a reminder the game looks like that because they're running it on a really expensive computer hahah. I quit before the first free month was over. The grind, lag, and system requirements are just 'ugh'. The animation + actual effect is too dumb too. I'll wait 'til it gets fixed imho.

Look, a trailer is designed to sell your game. In this case, it's actually more designed to peak your interest and make you say, "Wow, cool!" since they're not even charging for this expansion. Yes, it's cool, and yes, it may not be completely accurate compared to what reality is in-game. But honestly, epic moments like this really happen and it's just as great as this trailer when they do.

I gotta say, that was actually one of the better trailers they've released in a while (though butterfly effect was good as well). I think they did a good job of integrating how eve players actually communicate in-game, and how major fleet engagements play out.

To the ones that say that this Cinematic trailer is way off actual gameplay. Show me one cinematic WoW trailer more like actual WoW gameplay than this is like EvE gameplay... EvE hater trolls are running out of material obviously.

I played eve since beta, after my first 2 months or so did nothing but pvp. Paying for it by taking off others. Made it to 12 accounts all paid for by pvp gains. Battles like this do happen and rock when there is no lag. So..was the commanders really Red alliance *snicker* Because I swore I heard a alarm clock when the 2nd fleet came. All good eve is still a fun PVP game in this market of bleh......

Label, go live in 0.0 on a border system. Keeps you awake.
They show that targeting UI in all the trailers recently. Wonder if we'll be getting that in the future. Other than in a fleet battle that large, you encounter much more lag than they did, and this trailer is shiny. that's kinda how Big fleet battles work. Nice to see that Titans have single target beams than OMG KILL EVERYTHING weapons that hurt friend and foe alike.

This games goes like this. you play missions up to 4 at which point you will have to go into pvp area's or grind lower economics. if you go into pvp area you find awaiting at the gate like 20 players camping the mission gates to kill you instant. that is pvp on EVE.
ones that argue it is not. is the longterm players that grind any new player that starts this game.
I played it for about month. if it have pve it would rock. its pvp. Blows built on skill points that you accumilate and there is tons and tons of nerds that have played this for years waiting for you. this game would be good if it had a working pvp system or if it had a TON of more PVE.

windsigra, you are so ignorant. See kids, this is the kind of opinions you get from WoW fan bois who want content spoon fed to them elementary school style. A "noob" who has been playing 3 months could easily beat me, its all about skill playing the game. There is no "catching up" skill point wise, because there is only SO FAR you can go with said skill. THIS GAME IS NOT LINEAR - THIS GAME IS NOT A THEMEPARK GAME it is a SANDBOX and you have to think outside the box to survive, but once you get the hang of it, there is no better way to play.

mike you can play even though you don't pvp, although empire is not 100% safe you wont have any pvp encounter unless you really want to
i find only pve-ing be increadibly dull but i can understand other people liking that
