  • The Art of New Eden Announced

    CCP has announced that a new art book for EVE Online is in the works. The book will cover ten years of EVE and will also include pieces from DUST 514 and Valkyrie. The concept pieces comprise a coffee table sized book of about 192 pages, a million words and is being published in conjunction with Dark Horse Comics.

  • Tiamat Update Now Live

    The second major EVE Online update of 2015 is now in the books with the arrival of the Tiamat content expansion that continues the game's progress through a major overhaul and update throughout the balance of the year. Tiamat sees significant improvements to audio, graphics and effects on the back end side of things and several big feature improvements on the client side.

  • First Details of February's 'Tiamat' Update Published

    CCP Games has revealed the first details about the next EVE Online update. Called "Tiamat", the update is scheduled to hit live service on February 17th. Among other things, players can look forward to NPCs with new abilities that make them smarter and more dangerous. Projectile weapons have been rebalanced, UI improvements will be added and a new Tiamat soundtrack will be included as well.

    The other night I was participating in an annual tradition by getting ready sit down to think about starting to consider a possible temporary return to EVE Online, a tradition in my house since I first started my account in July of 2004. EVE Online will either pull you in completely, tempt you once in a while, or turn you off immediately. I fall in the category of the occasional temptation. Now that the game says you can "train multiple characters at once", I was once again tempted.

Players have much to look forward to in the form of new ships, over a hundred new wormhole systems and a massive star system to explore.     The EVE Online teaser site for the next major update has opened its doors. The Oceanus pages give players insight into what to expect from the patch set to hit live service on September 30th. Oceanus will bring full French language support into EVE as well as UI improvements, new cloaking effects, updated wormhole nebulae and more.

    Gamasutra is reporting that EVE Online's developer, CCP Games, has closed its San Francisco offices and fired two US executives. According to the report, overall revenues at CCP are down this year, likely prompting the layoffs.
