The seventh EVE Alliance tournament will begin this weekend, September 5th, 2009, at 15:00 GMT. The tournament will pit EVE Online guilds against each other in brutal PvP competitions spread over three weekends, with the tournament finals to be broadcast over live video.
CCP Games has selected certain EVE Online players to provide live commentary for the tournament, which can be listened to over EVE Voice by joining the "Alliance Tournament" channel.
The tournament finals will be held on September 19th, and 20th, and as we mentioned previously, will be broadcast in live (and HD!) video. A teaser trailer for the Alliance Tournament is available, showing off the "Alliance Tournament" player that will be used to broadcast the finals.
The original announcement can be viewed here. You can also view the match schedule, available here.
For those who don't know, the finals will be 20 minutes matches pitying two teams of 10 ships against each other.
The finals can can be followed live via HQ TV, nice. I am looking forward to see a bunch of shiny and horribly expensive T3 strategic cruisers blown up.
Hm... only 2 ships of the same type. At least they allowed remote repping again...with 1 logistics.
T3 cruisers are rated by 16 points, same as T2 BC.
This will be a snipe fest with no e-war, imo. T3 laser snipers instead of zealots?

For anyone that wants to listen to what's happening.
In the CCP site at Youtube (www.youtube.com/user/ccpgames) there are already up the videos of yesterday's (Saturday) matches. Nice quality videos. If you are an EvE fan look give them a look. If you are not into EvE you won't understand what is going on and the comments will leave you cold, as they use lots of terms that only a veteran EvE player will understand. Still, the graphics are pretty awesome and worth a look.
I just found out the official site where videos, reports and statiscis on the Alliance Tournament are posted. Link was broken this morning but it seems to be working now.
