A new (and admittedly colossal) blog post has cropped up on the EVE Online site that lays out every little detail you might ever want to know about the upcoming FanFest...and maybe a few things that you didn't know...but will! The blog provides information about when badges can be picked up, when the keynote takes place, what panels you can attend and much, much more.
The EVE Online site has been updated with an impressive list of patch notes for a planned update scheduled for Tuesday, March 14th. It includes some usual balancing changes, bug fixes as well as improvements to UI, Scanning system, Rorqual, Mining and much more.
EVE Online organization, Imperium, has sent out the numbers for this years Burn Jita event. Burn Jita challenges pilots to inflict massive losses through the destruction of enemy ships. During the event held from February 24-26, 140 Freighters and over 300 lesser ships were destroyed collectively inflicting over 776B ISK damages, the real world equivalent of about $15,000.
In a new partnership between CCP, Massively Multiplayer Online Science, University of Reykjavik and the University of Geneva have formed a unique opportunity for players to participate in the search for "exoplanets", those planets that lie outside of our own solar system. Using provided data, players will work to reach "comparative consensus on classification of the data" that will then be returned to the University of Geneva for further analysis in locating exoplanets.
Going in to 2017, EVE Online's Goonswarm Federation is touting its 21,000 members as the largest player organization in gaming history. In addition to EVE, Goonswarm is represented in PlanetSide 2, ArcheAge, Atlas Reactor and H1Z1.
Over the weekend, nearly six thousand EVE Online players set a record for most participants in a simultaneous battle during the final moments of a "Keepstar citadel", a player constructed structure. The Keepstar was owned by an in-game faction called Circle of Two. Pandemic Legion had been waging war against the "death star" for months and the weekend marked the culmination of their efforts.
Bloomberg is reporting that CCP's owners are "exploring strategic options" to remain solvent including possible sale of the business to potential bidders. This is "according to people with knowledge of the matter" says the report.

CCP Games has announced the successful deployment of the EVE Online Ascension update that most notably brings Clone States into the game, the new features that allows players to take on much of the game for free.
