and they made the mistake of giving you full access to all corp hangars instead of view only access, would you clear them out and move on?
I've got a new char and only 2m isk. I have access to about 500m isk in the corp and could clear them out. My morals won't let me though as, what's the point and its not how to make friends.
So, would you do it???

Originally posted by Calfis I mean its so obvious, 500M in the corp vault? Thats peanuts, around that amount that should be going in the corp-vault -daily- (obviously depending on corp-size) Let me guess, the hangars have some T2 equipment, a stash full of medium value ore and some blueprints? Yeah, its a trap. A reasonably seasoned player will have around 1 billion by himself, for a corp 500M is something you can loose to weed out the low-lvl scammers immediately.
The real cash and equipment is probably held by the corp-leader or stashed away in safety (too many ways to count). |

If they are cool people that I'd enjoy playing with then no I wouldn't steal. If my character's morals were not to steal then I wouldn't steal. If I created a character and made him with the intention of him/her being a dirty bastard I would run away with everything not locked down.

There are people with morals in Eve now? A lot has changed since I left. :) Regardless if you decide to rob them blind, I would not stay with them. Being careless in Eve is not met with good results. Assuming it's not test (which if it's a high sec corp then it's probably not), then they'll probably screw up again in the future and the next pilot may not be so honest. Having the corp assets robbed is enough to destroy the corp. Find a more competant corp.

Are you enjoying your stay in the corp? If so, tell about the security issue and grow together with them. |

look at it this way ... the next new join will do it when he does notice ... it may as well be you to profit. take all you can, transfer to another char, leave corp .... |

An interesting and varied set of replies to my post.
Well, I've been in for a few days now and cannot bring myself to take anything - they are a fairly new and small corp and are so helpful and friendly. That means more to me that taking a load of ISK and making enemies. They've offered me the use of any ships, given me ISK to get me up and running and have helped me in every way.
So, I told them about the free access and they said it was deliberate as I'm part of their gang now and this is my new home - quite refreshing in an MMO. But yes, not everyone joining will be as nice as me, though fortunately, the 500M in their hangar etc is not representative of everything they own and at least they are not treating me like a mining slave, where I work for nothing to get the CEO rich. I reckon a few corps could learn from that.
Essentially, someone has to make the first move in terms of the trust thing and for a nice change, its the corp. It might seem niave, but they have obviously calculated that they can risk the 500M in return for my loyalty - which they are getting, so it worked.

I usually grant all new members view & take rights to the lower level hangers, and usualy keep about 250M-500M worth of assets in it. I call this the Darwin test. Any person willing to take those assets when they can make that much back within a week or less running fleets with us is too stupid to keep around.

Dear OP,
clear it out and move on. That's the spirit of Eve, following it will get you very far. You won't see them ever again so it doesn't matter. They're unattentive carebears. If you don't steal the stuff, somebody else will.
And 500M aren't as little as people here say. It's worth it. I'd scam my own mother for that. |

I would leave the 500 million alone in hope of geting billions later, but thats me. 500 million is nothing these days... but I've played for a number of years and have a fat wallet. |
