Hey guys, Not sure if any of you have played civilisation 3-4 but one of the best aspects of the game is culture, and corruption and I got thinking about this and believe this is something that could refresh the game and give it a further dynamic that would enrich the game. E.g Im no expert on Eve, so some of this may be in the game in some form.
Corruption. The wider a corporation is spread between systems the higher the corruption ISK cost, this can be offset by building a 'capital base' on a planet. this reduces corruption in surrounding areas. The benefit is that small but extremely powerful guilds can form and be maintained, big corps pay a bigger price to live. Culture. Corps that instigate fights or have wars have an unsettled corporation that in turn increases the corruption ISK cost. Again it makes smaller corp more viable, but no less under threat from bigger corps, but bigger corps may decide that the corruption cost is too much to take on, and would weaken them overall. Corps could build and protect monuments that are hugely expensive but increase culture a little.
going on from this, there is slavery, other culture benefits etc, lots of scope! Could also have pve activites generating culture to help marry the pve/pvp sides of the game. - Some pve activites generate culture, e.g researching types of cultural tech.
