Star Wars Galaxies, R.I.P. NGE was your final death blow.

I didn't read any other threads, so I am fairly certain that my ideas have most likely been voiced before....

But the forum is called "Game Suggestions" for a reason...so here goes.

Little things that irritate :

1. Collision.  Collision of roids, stations, and even other ships is just not refined for a quality mmo.  flying 1000m above an acceleration gate and still getting hung up on it's structure is just way past due for a quality control check.  Because of this issue, I've seen buddy's lose high end ships because they were "stuck" on some invisible structure and could not warp out when they needed to.   Our eyes need to be able to trust what we're looking at and this isn't the case currently.

2. Anti-Alias refined.   Some of the stargates just about send me into a siezure when approaching...the strobe effect is just beyond words...the jagged edges.  How about some smooth clean lines rather than zig zags.  It will only add to the majesty of such massive structures.  Yes I know some graphics cards can force this and make it look better, but it's not NATIVE....this is probably my smallest complaint, however I felt it needed mentioned.

3. Explosion Animations.   As far as I can tell they are all exactly the same, with varying sizes.  PLEASE just look at how homeworld 2's ship explosions are....please.   and if you have time, look at the complex 7.4 version of the game mod...breathtaking explosions leave you just dazzled....ship parts, debri, dust, blinding light, proximity damage, just stunning....and that game is VERY OLD NOW.  In EVE every wreck looks like a jumble of alphbet letters stuck together...how about even a little variety?

Those listed are not game breaking in my opinion, but they'd certainly go a long way to polish and refine the experience.

Now the next suggestion(s) may or may not fly with most of the playerbase....but I'm going to let it fly regardless.

I believe these suggestions will help KEEP the new players from rage quitting.   And it should NOT make the vets mad. (if it does make you mad then you're just being a jerk for the sake of)

The starting solar system where you do the 50 training missions....

in THESE SYSTEMS ONLY... make can stealing a concord intervetion event.   (what is that only like 8 systems total?)

Call them ABSOLUTELY SECURE.   where a noob can peacefully jet can and get a feel for it without being messed with by the can stealers.   getting a can jacked is part of eve, I agree...but you have guys doing it just to piss off noobs and rather than defend themselve, (because they can't) they just quit the game......let them ease into the piracy.

I can hear some argue against this, I've heard ALL the reasons and I still don't buy the reasoning.   Theft of noobs from experienced players is going to limit growth to Eve.  period.

...............................

I'm going to throw this last one out just for shits and giggles...I can hear the collective whining inhaling now on this one...

Ship fits....

I say allow a ship to hold a PVP fit AND a PVE fit and let them be hot swappable.(with reasonable restrictions like timers or cap hit)

when a person is doing a pve mission, and comes up against a gate camp....forget it...he's never going to make it out unless he ejects and loses his ship without a fight. ...but if he had a pvp fit swap ability...one that puts him on even footing with the pvp ships...he might be able to hold em off.

There just seems to be way too much advantage to a pvp fit over a pve fit.   and that's ok, but .........i think the pvp crowds aren't as tough as they act, they just know they have a huge advantage over the pve players....ya I said that.

so there ya have it!

I got seven heavy missile launchers locking on your asses!  bring the pain.

Concerning collisions, if you lose a ship due to something like this, file a petition and it will be reimbursed assuming your story checks out. Also, I've found this to be a very small problem once you're aware of it.

Anti alias and explosions don't bother me, but I understand that it might bother some people.

Concerning the can stealing in the starter areas, I think bait flipping is already a ban-able offense. I could see this extra measure be implemented in 4-8 systems only. However, do newbies actually mine in these systems? I didn't think anyone would beyond the training missions.

And last, the pve fit and pvp fit swapping idea goes against the nature of the game. The galaxy in Eve is very dangerous, and it's supposed to be. There are plenty of places to pve without having to be scared of gate camps (high sec). If you want to pve where there might be gatecamps (low and null sec) then you are basically going to be pve'ing in areas where the reward is greater. Hence, the risk is greater too.

:P  I never expected a mad rush on the idea
