I was wondering which racials ships / turrets are better used for PVP if there is such a thing.

Very crudely:

For frigates and cruisers, Minmatar

For battleships, Amarr

For battlecruisers, Drake = Hurricane > Harbinger >>> Myrmidon.

For T2: The ships tend to be a bit specialised to compare against eath other. IMO Gallante come last again here.

For T3, Proteus is FoTM, alongside the Tengu. The Legion is the gimpship here.

TL;DR: Projectiles and Lasers are both fine, Hybrids are terrible except for small Blasters which are fine. Missiles are OK but have limitations. Go Amarr/Minmatar dual spec and you'll cover pretty much every significant role with a best-in-class ship.

1on1 i would say Gallente all the way + Curse and Vagabond.

Ishtar, Ishkur, Dominix and Brutix are awsome solo ships.
