I see, sorry.

I am not running missions so dunno much about them :(

Did you warp to mission location?
Right click on open space while undocked and select Mission Encounter -> Warp to 0km.

Thanks.  Had to mine that certain one till it was gone.

Well that's eve for you.

That's quite lulzy. But I haven't seen anything like that since I was a combat mish runner. Also, when I looked at the pic, I saw that the actual objective was just the circle instead of a checkmark, and was going to assume something was amiss with that. But I honestly wasn't sure since I haven't done any mining missions. Plus it's been a while since I've played eve. I've been wanting to get back in, but haven't been sure I really want to.

One bit of advice.  EVE doesn't care how other games do it.  EVE doesn't care how "you" want the game to be.  EVE provides a the virtual world with a set of rules and tools and you the player are expected to try and master it on your own.

There will be little handholding,  and it isn't always intuitive.  You have to do a lot of research to really understand EVE.  (EVE doesn't care if you don't want to do research, do it or fail).

Start here with this new player guide, it will be but the first of many you'll read if you wish to have a successful career in EVE.

eve.battleclinic.com/guide/3510-BattleClinic-s-EVE-New-Player-Guide.html

And while I don't recommend a career in mining, some folks seem to enjoy it so if you're going to do it, learn it from an expert.

(there might be a newer version, but this is a good place to start)

Finally, the best advice I can give - Never fly what you can't afford to lose.

You won't listen, but will remember this advice one day.

Alright, heres an update.  16 more days on my trial and still unsure if I'm going to sub or not.

So far no pvp and no corp.

I must say the game is starting to grow on me even thought the gameplay isn't what I really enjoy in a space sim.  Been doing a little exploring (not much to see but I haven't been anywhere dangerous either) and finishing up all my career tutorial missions that give me some free ships. Bought myself a shiny rifter cause it looked cool and pimped it out with the free stuff I got from the missions.

I love the feeling of achievement I get buying new ships and learning new skills.  And the skill system itself works really well for EVE.  The diversity alone with using equimpent and "actions" is kinda what I would want in my dream MMO.  Being able to buy every skill and train it to lvl 1 in practically no time just to be able to try out...aside from the skills that have pre recs but even then I'm sure it wouldn't be so bad if you have everything focusing on that particular skill.  I haven't really found out what I want to do in the game yet but I'm looking around for more missions that I can complete with my ships.
I like the certificate system as well (another aspect I would want in my dream MMO)

Most likely not gonna be playing any big ships on this trial but they haven't interested me that much so far either.  Like I said, I don't really have a focus at the moment...enjoying my time making money.

I must say the game does feel boring overall comapred to what I'm used to, but the more more I play the more I enjoy it...not sure it is worth the sub but once I find a corp I'll post a new update.

Make games you want to play.

Eve doesn't use Gold, nor do you "lvl" up. Try researching a game before you try to cheat people out of money you moron

There is a Madness that has grown in the Light. And it is coming to burn you a cinder

It's true, the more you play the more the game grows on you.  The first time I played the trial I quit after a few days.  The action seemed too slow and the whole game was very different than what I was used to or expecting.  The second time was the charm.  I stuck with it and the more I learned the more I liked it.

Remember the certificate system is just a guide.  Don't waste time training skills just to get a certificate unless you actually plan on using the skill.

Joining a good player corp is essential.  I think if most players were forced to stay in the NPC corp they would have quit a long time ago.  You'll learn a lot faster and a lot more options will open up to you.

Leave high sec space and the boring feeling will go away quickly.  Get chased around by pirates or become one yourself :)

Your experience sounds similar to mine the first time I played Eve. I wanted to try everything out. I was unsure if I wanted to sub also. Eve was fun in a special kind of way.

My achievements were learning new things and in Eve you learn new shit all the time. My first trial was with an Amarr character so I trained up to an Amarrian cruiser by the time my trial ended. I liked it a lot but felt like I may be missing something if I didnt try the other racial ships out. Four trials later I found out that each racial ship line played totally different usuing different weapons, tanking and combat tactics.

Then I made my 5th trial and decided to actually grow some balls and venture into low sec. I spent two weeks roaming around in a kestrel with a Pirate corp.

Then I created a 6th trial and tried to get into trade and industry (mining).

By that time a year passed I caught a Eve online sale and got the client for 14 bucks and never looked back.

I used what I learned to mold the perfect starting character and this time instead od roaming small fleet pvp I decided to try the solo pvp route and while over the years i've done many things Solo pvp and hunting targets is still my favorite.

It takes a long time to figure out what you want to do in Eve and it maight take more than one trial.
