Before: Anchor and online pos, wait until sov3 kicks in
Anyone who has been playing eve smart has multiple stashes. For the same reason that I always park my jumpfreighter in highsec after doing logistics for the alliance instead of docking in 0.0, I started to make small stashes all over Eve. In case my alliance gets disbanded, I'm prepared with combat ships in npc 0.0 and empire. Should my home station in 0.0 fall into enemy hands before I can evac I will still have combat ships in the other stations. In a game where you can lose stuff very easily, you never put all your eggs in one basket. I even have mining and mission running ships fully fitted in empire, just in case. Malcanis and me aren't the only people doing this, i expect anyone living in 0.0 to have multiple backup plans for anything that could happen. |

The Sov changes will open up 0.0 to a decent amount of players that want to work (rent space) from bigger alliances but other than that I don't see a drastic change in how space is held atm. You have to understand the pilots that have held space for years (the active ones anyway) will still hold sway over the most profitable areas of 0.0. How will you stop a thousand+ Capital fleet if your a newb in 0.0 with your hundred + casual 0.0 carebear corp? you can't. Nothing CCP will do will change that. Why should they anyway? Most of those guys worked thier ass off for that space. This xpac gives more players the chance to Join the big boys and work thier space with them, not take em over. If you think in Dec you will suddenly see a half empty sov map your dumb. PLaying: EvE, Ryzom Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum |

Why is that, when there's no upgrade to space that allows the holder to profit from other people using their space? |

Man, I think you just solved the whole shindig! That's a simple, doable and amazing solution and I do hope you posted that in the Eve forums even though someone else might have. This is not a game. |

The idea of an additional bounty paid by concord to the holding corp for any rat killed in their system is an old one. I mean, really old. Four years old at least. It has also been ignored by the sov team. |

I think they do understand their game pretty well. As far as the taxes goes I think it's a good thing that they have removed a benefit from playing in NPC corps. I'm currently playing in a coporation that really had no interest in 0.0, they haven't in their entire history, that is now moving towards claiming SOV. I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention. |

It's been said before and I say it again: Nothing will change. So we don't have sov anymore in a system? What does that mean? That you can go there and claim it? Nope. We still own it. You go there, you die. Simple as that. This does not increase the alliances that will hold and claim 0.0 space. It will only mean that you no longer see systems owned by sov holding alliances as claimed which they still deem their turf. Will that open the door for "noobs" into 0.0 alliances? No. as it has been said before as well, if you can't pull your weight we don't need you. Simple as that. Are you worth 200+m a month? If not, why bother signing you up? Because you can fly a ship? Well, that essentially just means that you cost the enemy a salvo of T2 ammo. I'd label that a meatshield if anything. A roll of armor is cheaper, though, because it doesn't whine for a new ship when it gets hammered, so take a wild guess what we will prefer. Fewer systems will be "claimed", but mining/scanning will still be done in unclaimed but "owned" systems. Alliances will strip down the "claimed" systems, that's a given. What they don't need claimed will not be claimed. That does neither mean that this will be for the taking (nothing in EvE is free, not even death) nor does it mean that sov holding alliances suddenly see any need for 5m SP noobs. |
