Ok I'm not sure if it's like this for the other factions but my experience for the Caldari is lots of people bitching in chat and not helping eachother at all. Then when you form a fleet with people it's full of people doing their own thing and noone taking control, so you try to tell them what to do to get order in the fleet and they start insulting you. It's like I DON'T WANT TO SIT AT THIS GATE ALL DAY WONDERING WHAT tO DO, LETS JUST JUMP AND HAVE SOME FUN! So I rejoined Militia chat to see some argument over why WOW sucks.......... |

Don't bash the whole community based on a few idiots. It only genders hate towards your opinion.
FW channels are sort of like public channels like 'newbie help' and various NPC corp chats: Open to everyone, and everyone there is looking for what they think is a 'good time'. I'd suggest you try leading a few fleets, then picking up the people from there that aren't complete arsetards and setting up your own channel, perhaps even your own corp, to do FW operations with. That way, you'll have some control on what sort of people join your fleets. Also, as FC, don't be afraid to kick idiots off your fleet. If they endanger the rest of the gang, they have no place in it, and everyone who matters knows you for a better FC if you do not let idiots run all over you. In short: Do not decry morons, simply ignore them. In EVE, you can say 'you can't come' to someone who'd deliberately endanger your and other people's stuff by acting like an immature brat. Oh, and there are corps that participate in FW, and I'd suggest you try joining one of those who's goals match yours as closely as possible. They will at least have a bit more internal cohesion. |

I have been flying in the minmatar FW from one of the generic faction warfare corps. I have been readily able to join in well lead fleets with good FCs and quite good dicipline. I suspect the cadari faction doesn't have the good FCs that have dropped from the experienced rp corps out there. Everyone and their dog has a caldari alt, and you are just getting a bunch of inexperienced PvPers joinng up and no-one with FC experience. Also FCing is not easy, especially with a gang of the lowest common players with no discipline. No-one is going to step up and try to herd those cats and get something done. Have a look around for a corporation that is player owned and has defined goals regarding the factional warfare. Ignore the dross in the militia chat and get in some solid defined gangs. Blobing up is another thing to be avoided. |
