I would just like to voice my support of EVE. I love it.

I guess its not for everyone: Its better suited to more mature and intellegent people than... er.. others.

If you are reading this thinking if you should try EVE or not, I suggest you do. I think you should go solo to start with so your experience is not ruined by having easy money from a corp or something.

After youve got into it, then start a little band of other trial account people and go rating in a group. You dont need to start a corp to join with some friends and work together.

If you like it, great. If you dont, fine; we get too many 12 year olds from WOW who cant be bothered to work anything out for them selves asking stupid questions that anyone with some common sense could have worked out.

Give feedback on forums about what you liked and disliked, but only after giving it a good try. And dont make assumptions or make sweaping generalisations such as "This game is crap, just quit it".

Secondly, reduce unnecessary timesinkers.  Most of your time playing this game you'll notice you're just flying towards a jumpgate or a space station and it takes just too dame long.  Some of the missions will start you out 15 minutes away from the jumpgate to begin for absolutely no reason.  No reason at all...

Third, the missions are just horrible.  WoW is a complete carebear game, but at the very least the game had a lot more to do PvE then this game will ever dream of having.

Fourth, start new players out with much much more money.  You don't start with crap so you get to run the same repatative newbie missions for chump change.

If you're a newbie solo player, you're screwed completely.  You can't fight anyone cause they're going to have more skills and most likely more money hence better equipment and ship.  If you're lucky enough to know a few people or be in a corporation you'll probably just be known as another anklebiter.

Charging 15$ a month for this game is insulting and shameful.

This game is not for kids. Learn more about life and when u are 25+ come back and try it.

when i first played EVE i was excited about all the cool controls and abilities. as i played i discovered more cool stuff about corporations and how limitless thier powers are in the world of EVE. as i played more i discovered as cool as all this may be, i would never be able to get to the position where i have the kind of power that was fun. i played for 2 months and never got the chance to engage in fleet battles. the main reason was because i just wasnt expirenced enough. so in a short sentence, you are right, it maybe be fun to think about but not so much fun to play. its a game made only for the rich players, the poor players basically run the bussiness for the rich ones. e.g. i was a member of a corp and i was a very good miner, but i sold one million units of ore to the corp CEO for 80 million and he sold it for over 150 million to the pirates in the 0.0 space. so i ended up doing all the hard work and he made twise the money i made and did nothing. i would rather play a game where i have the chance to explore all of its features within my life time lol.

A Corp scamming its members should die painfully.
Same for alliances that tell someone he was not experienced enough for fleets..seriously, if you are at war, you throw your people into it so they gain experience. And a lonely rifter can make the difference..

"i would never be able to get to the position where i have the kind of power that was fun" - No, not within 2 months, but most people's lifetimes are longer than that.

I dont want to get at you and I understand where you're coming from but EVE is not a game of instant gratification. It takes time to work your way up in the world universe, and by time I mean more than 2 months.

It deffinatly does suit some people more than others.

It a game where levels are attained through leveling ingame if said "lvl 55" didn't play for awhile and I did play I could make that level while he was still at it.  In Eve you don't even have to play and you keep on skilling up so there's virtually no way to catch up unless everyone else turns off their skills and lets you.

There's also no reason to obsess about catching up. It's not about what they can do and what you can't, it's about what you can do.

Think about it: In WoW and its ilk, a lvl 55 can't really fight against a lvl 59 player. His hits won't, his damage doesn't, and generally the higher level player just mops the floor with him.

In EVE, a first-day player can be dangerous. A three-month 'newbie' can fly a well-fitted cruiser, which can seriously crimp a five-year veterans day.

In the business side, a first-day newbie who's also an acute business major can rake in millions of ISK from older, 'superior' vets who aren't as business-keen or just concentrate on the pew pew.

True, in EVE everything tends to take time.

Not to mention the fact that a first-year newbie tends to get a lot more 'kick' out of the skill training then a three-year vet who gets to change skills every month or so, kinda like paying the rent.

And as for the cost, well, 200 000 paid accounts disagrees with you.
