Separate the game from the man, the game is a harsh world where the rules are known before people voluntarily play, the Eve gameplay is not bullying. Having said that, if these comments are as clear as they seem including context then The Mittani's actions are inexcusable and CCP will be rightly forced to take some action to avoid a clusterfuck of bad publicity. CCP need to stamp down hard and fast as this kind of thing is unacceptable from someone representing the company in any form on a public platform. Very poor indeed.

I agree with you, that's not what I meant by separate the game from the man, it was a reply to "I have heard before that the Eve community is different and kind of harsh" , that the EvE plays play hard and dirty in game should not be a reason to excuse this behaviour in real life. A game is not life and some lines should never be crossed.

Did anyone expect anything else... He's from goonsquad... He prolly felt that he needed to uphold some sort of e-peen rep and decided to troll CCP for letting him speak public.

 

Seriously unfunny guy... Could have been funny if he had keept it a bit more narrow... But this was just unfunny.

Wonder if the victim is in the US.  With some new state laws just saying that and putting it over the web could bring charges.

What a low life for acting this way, I hope CCP removes him from the position at the minimum.  Hardcore in the game, fine, but once you cross the line you've gone to far.  I don't say something like this often but there really are some people who need a beating in reality just to put them in touch with reality.  This person obviously has livedin cyberspace so long he thinks he actually is some kind of super bully terrorist who can get away with acting inhuman and without any morals whatsoever. 

 

Ban this clown, strip him of the source of this "power" that he's clearly drunk off of, and it'll be he who ends up seeking suicide counseling.

Anyway. This guy Mitani , he should be removed from Stellar Council. And also be charged with harrasement.

 

But we got to realize that its the games(companies) that encourage this type of behaviour.

Many gameplay elements in these games are tailored for gankers.

Someone who is already in a precarious mental possition perhaps? There is zero excuse for this guy Mittani's behaviour. NONE. It's not in fun, it's not funny and anyone who thinks it isn't a big deal to encourage people to push an already obviously ill man to suicide is messed up. Seriously messed up!

Are you kidding me?!! who would trust their problems with someone with power?? someone who is vulnerable, like that guy. And the fact that he didn't gave his name does not matter because other players wont find him by his real name, and the last thing a guy who is thinking about suicide needs is a ton of emails from other assholes telling him to kill himself....

There's a lot to be said sociologically about a game that encourages ruthlessness, it will either attract sociopaths or encourage normally reasonable people to be wicked. That said I have only experienced kindness in the game, bar the odd justifyable podding. I've had complete strangers give me bundles of money when they saw I was flying a crap ship, I've had endless offers of help whilst getting into them game but I'm guessing you find these other kinds of dicks at a more competitive level of the game.

In all seriousness, Goonswarm is a terrible group of gamers who's sole purpose is to ruin others experiences in games.  Just look at their leader in Eve who thinks its funny to joke about someone being depressed and suicide.  Yea...those are real appropriate topics.

This guy is a fan of cyber bullying because god knows he could never real-world bully...I mean, just look at the guy...lol

I've had a few run ins with goons throughout my gaming, they've proven to be the lowest of the lowest in mmo's (and that says a lot).

Agree'd - the goons are among the worse - scammers, griefers, exploiters..that about sums them up.
