Nothing much will change for small alliances ,remember this is eve you cant have cake and eat sametime .
Dont get me wrong, I'm fine with the proposed changes. They'll be great for me. 0.0 populated by Smaller, lean alliances of high-SP players will be great fun. Kind of a kick in the shorts for the new and empire players who were hoping to get out into sov space, though, since they're the ones who'll have to pony up a couple of cap ships worth of ISK every month. That could be the best thing to happen to EVE yet, that will tempt me back to check out how things come together once this is live. |

once dominion is released i have a feeling 0.0 is going to be flooded with people for a month or so before things settle down to 0.0 being moderatly populated and empire still being packed. |
How come? Sov changes got very short time for testing, thus I don't understand what makes you think it will be less bugged. |

I did see them(thanks for excelent thread keeping all info, btw.) Still I can't figure out what is your conclusion based on. |

Just how mentally challenged are you? Whatever hits tq, it will be nothing that was tested well enough. We had more time testing the scanning changes than the sov changes..that alone is an impressive feat of incompetence from the sov team.. |

No, I doubt we will. CCP pretty habitually release their expansions with a few major howlers. My personal favourite was when Revelations came out in 2006 and local was in Delayed mode (so you couldn't see who was in local unless they spoke) for a day or two. Actually, I wish they'd left that one in. Give me liberty or give me lasers |

Before Apocrypha I would have agreed with this. Today, I think CCP is much more aggressive and competent. For me Apocrypha was 100% bug free, and I know for a fact it did what it set out to do because I was a part of it. For me EVE is almost like two games. One before WH's and one after. I think Dominion will build directly off of Apocrypha and be just as successful because the same people are doing it for the same reasons. I think you should prepare yourself, change is coming. |

Ehehe if CCP manage to release a bug-free major software update in so fantastically huge and complex a system as EvE then I will be both delighted and amazed. "I think you should prepare yourself, change is coming." LOL Who do you think you are talking to? I am prepared for pretty much any contingency including the possibility that my alliance will be kicked out of 0.0 within day. Even in that case I would lose less than 20% of my wealth. The only outcome that would find me unprepared on Dec 2nd would be if CCP were to make it so that no Gallante, Caldari or Amarr Frigate, Cruiser, Battleship, HAC, RECON, or HIC, and no Interdictor, Interceptor, Assault Frigate, or Battlecruiser at all were worth flying. And even if only Minmatar T2 cruisers and Minmatar BS will be worth anything, I'll still be flying those by the end of this year anyway. I've lived in Empire, I've lived in lo-sec, I've lived in NPC 0.0, I've lived in sov 0.0. I have significant assets cached all over the map including capital ships, and no-one but me knows where they are. I have hundreds of kills and hundreds of hours experience in small gang, medium gangs and heavy fleets. I've lived out of a POS for months, and can do so again. I have nearly 2,500 bookmarks in systems all over the 0.0 map so I can travel in almost perfect safety through half the regions in EvE. I have friends in (and standing invites to) corps in alliances who live in NPC 0.0, sov 0.0, lo-sec, in the NC, in the Southern Coalition, and in the Goon coalition. Yeah, I'm prepared, thanks, pretty much whatever happens. How about you? Give me liberty or give me lasers |

This is a great change, SOV was AFK to take and progress. The new changes will be much more dynamic.

Before: Anchor and online pos, wait until sov3 kicks in
Anyone who has been playing eve smart has multiple stashes. For the same reason that I always park my jumpfreighter in highsec after doing logistics for the alliance instead of docking in 0.0, I started to make small stashes all over Eve. In case my alliance gets disbanded, I'm prepared with combat ships in npc 0.0 and empire. Should my home station in 0.0 fall into enemy hands before I can evac I will still have combat ships in the other stations. In a game where you can lose stuff very easily, you never put all your eggs in one basket. I even have mining and mission running ships fully fitted in empire, just in case. Malcanis and me aren't the only people doing this, i expect anyone living in 0.0 to have multiple backup plans for anything that could happen. |

The Sov changes will open up 0.0 to a decent amount of players that want to work (rent space) from bigger alliances but other than that I don't see a drastic change in how space is held atm. You have to understand the pilots that have held space for years (the active ones anyway) will still hold sway over the most profitable areas of 0.0. How will you stop a thousand+ Capital fleet if your a newb in 0.0 with your hundred + casual 0.0 carebear corp? you can't. Nothing CCP will do will change that. Why should they anyway? Most of those guys worked thier ass off for that space. This xpac gives more players the chance to Join the big boys and work thier space with them, not take em over. If you think in Dec you will suddenly see a half empty sov map your dumb. Why would I play a pathetic themepark MMO when I could enjoy a masterpiece like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age? |
|
Why is that, when there's no upgrade to space that allows the holder to profit from other people using their space? |

Man, I think you just solved the whole shindig! That's a simple, doable and amazing solution and I do hope you posted that in the Eve forums even though someone else might have. This is not a game. |
The idea of an additional bounty paid by concord to the holding corp for any rat killed in their system is an old one. I mean, really old. Four years old at least. It has also been ignored by the sov team. |
